I don’t see how Simpson could be any worse. In what I’ve seen in A-Day and limited action, he can clearly throw the ball. He’s as good a runner as Milroe is. Not as fast but clearly shifter than Milroe. I refuse to believe he’s as stupid as Milroe.
As far as being “beaten out” last year by Buchner and Milroe, there’s WAAAAY more to that story than meets the eye. Buchner looked amazing in practice and hence the start at USF. Yes, Simpson got in and looked so so. Not great but not terrible either. It looked to me like most of the offense wasn’t trying very hard.
No way to prove this but my theory is that the offense was angry over Milroe being benched and their way of getting back at CNS and giving him the bird was by them not really trying. Offensive line didn’t block worth a sh*t and Simpson took some vicious licks. Not once did any of the offense help Simpson up off the ground. Guys were dropping passes that should have been caught. RBs half way hitting the hole and doing a crappy job pass protecting.
Again, I can’t PROVE it but I think that’s theory is probably right.

Well I think that theory is crazy. And we had just as much trouble with South Florida this year. And why did they line refuse to block today? Who was the work slowdown directed at against Vandy.?
I have no problem playing Ty some. In fact, I think it's needed. But I will say again, he has proved nothing to me yet. And I know there is a racial element to all this "locker room" in stuff. But I think winning and executing pulls teams together alot more than any cult of personality around Jalen. These players want their hands on the ball. They want to win and be mentioned on TV. They will follow whoever can get them where they want to go.
I don't think two coaches started Milroe because they are scared of the team. I think they started him because they thought it would be easiest to win with him.

Ty Simpson must've smashed your daughter or something? Because you don't like buddy at all and it seems a little personal.

My point is people screamed for GMac when JP Wilson was the starter, people screamed for Star Jackson when GMac became the starter, then we wanted AJ. Then when we got AJ they wanted Phillip Sims.
Everybody loves the backup. Sometimes it warranted most of the time it’s not.

I'm not saying ty is any better than milroe, but I'm also saying that he probably isn't worse and has a higher passing potential than milroe if he can get experience

DeBoer needs to do what Norvell did at FSU… “he hurt his hand”… and we’re gonna go with the backup until he heals…

Milroe probably would not cooperate

You’re free to believe whatever you want but I tend to agree with another poster, you act like you caught Simpson getting his freak on with your daughter.

That is a coaching staff problem then...who plays and who doesn't is not a players problem, it is a coaching problem. Staff gonna have to decide if they're leaders of men or best friends of boys.

No, but I am sick of you.

I don’t think anyone is thinking Ty Simpson is Tua 2017. Just a generational talent wasting away on the bench.
But after seeing Milroe regressing and become a liability, many are probably justified in saying it really couldn’t be worse unless Ty is absolute turnover machine in practice .

Pretty much. When people make the Tua hurts comparison the first response is “well he’s probably not Tua level”. Sure, but the point is we’ve got a dysfunctional QB starting with a more than likely more functional alternative.
Doesn’t have to be super far ahead but just literally has to do the basic executions on offense that Milroe can’t. We won two fricking titles with AJ McCarron’s pocket passing, average arm arse.
We have the guys on offense to succeed; get an average QB that can adjust the line, use hot routes, throw it average to all parts of the field and we’re fine. Literally just give me a quarterback instead of an athlete masquerading as one
