A few more gems from the Alabama Sports Board's finest...

Alabama Sports Board Finest? Nice…
Stand by what I said. Lsu did look good… and ran the ball well… and I’ll still take a strong run game from Alabama. Duh.
Not sure what the “gotcha” is here.
Glad Alabama won but come on Lsu did look good when that comment was made… in September. Seems like more than not agreed with me. Start taking notes… you might learn something.

I learned that Kiffin had his team flat tonight and surprisingly got out coached. The guy goes for it on 4th down way to often in bad situations. But honestly I wasn’t sure we were going to put out the product we saw tonight. Maybe it’ll cary the rest of the season

People can certainly find some bad takes from me out there. However, I don't think you're going to find ones where I'm glazing Lane Kiffin.
He's a good coach. He may even become a great coach. However, he's not the second-coming of Bear or the heir apparent of Saban.
I've just never understood people justifiably lamenting and showing disgust after the low points of the DeBoer tenure thus far but immediately suggesting that Lane Kiffin is the cure for what ails us.
Lane has the bed shittings that we've suffered the last 2.5 years but he's got to have sub-.500 (maybe sub-.400) record against ranked opponents.
Say what you will about DeBoer, his teams will grind out some wins against ranked teams more often than they lose them.

Don’t forget the constant hate the defense gets for allowing 20 points ea h week no matter what the circumstances

And then they looked like shite the following week against a Sunbelt team. Then they laid an egg against Ole Miss. Then they got embarrassed by Kentucky (which owns Lane). And of course, there was tonight... which brings us back to my original point:

Nothing indicates Kiffin would be a
significant upgrade over Deboer.
Absolutely nothing. How many goddamn
times did he shite the bed in games like
this?
But let's not argue what ifs...

It’s weird you’re melting after a win about a “what if” post of mine from September. It’s cute you saved that though. Carry on… Roll Tide BORTHER

I stand by by comment Hawaiian Punch responded to.
This fan base does IMO have the old-school ideal of a large and in charge head coach whose personality dominates the program. It’s the old-school view of a coach as being akin to a military commander. And I think the adoration of and reverence for Saban absolutely feeds into that.
The thing is, at no point in time during his tenure did Nick do it all by himself.
And the sport in 2026 doesn’t lend itself to programs being led by would-be generals anymore.
And to be fair, the Corndog brigade is the same way, and go over to their scoreboard forum right now and check out the anguish they are feeling over the realization that their faith in one man was sorely misplaced.
Although if I could compare Kiffin to any military leader, G.A. Custer comes to mind.
