To be fair, this is happening all over the world. The USA isn’t alone

But if something like the Black Plague happened again, society would collapse based off of this

I’ve lost any faith I ever had that our society could successfully navigate a bonafide crisis.

I am at a loss without some kind of sports to watch. I’m not a fisherman

Everything is cancelled for two weeks. Even Disney is closing their parks for two weeks. They never close. No sports. No public gatherings. Their will be a bit of a baby boom in nine months or so.

Elect a man president that wants to blow up the system and has no public policy experience and this is what you get. Elections have consequences.

Our country isn't the only one struggling with this issue. Did everyone elect a leader unsuited for this outbreak?

Come on, man. Don't politicize this situation.

Why? It is a political issue because the government is charged with being a front line in fighting these types of things, and ours has failed us miserably.

Failed us miserably?

Based on what?

They closed for the UF-LSU hurricane game, which as history tells us was a big nothing burger. Then they did it 11 months later with hurricane Irma, which also didn't hit FL soil.

I can say without a doubt that I would rather be in the USA with this type of deal than anywhere else

I can’t believe Trump let Justin Trudeau’s wife catch Corona.

They also closed for 9-11, but that wasn’t the point.

Yeah FFS people. Look at the numbers. We aren’t even close to there yet.

WHO has done a fantastic job of wasting time while also helping it’s truly remarkable.

The EU completely screwed their members and now Italy is getting smacked.

On top of it, politicians have politicized this event. It’s sick quite frankly. No matter what the man in the Oval Office says it will he turned. It could be any President at any time.

What numbers? There are reports from all over the country of people showing symptoms that can’t even get tested. We knew this was likely coming here 4 weeks ago and we still don’t have adequate testing kits available. We have a report out tonight that our president didn’t want people tested for fear of how positive results would affect him politically. He gave an address last night that spooked the markets into its largest percentage drop since 1987, and what he said had to be immediately cleaned up by the WH. The list of ways our response has been bungled is lengthy. No organization or administration is perfect. Mistakes are expected and accepted sometimes, but this is well past the level of acceptability.

What was the point then? You say they never close like it was some sort of indicator, but I threw a couple semi recent non events that shut them down.
