Thought Tua moved better tonight then he has since the Arkansas game.

O line just wasn't good tonight

He did. He also threw well given the amount of pressure he was under.

Their defensive front is legit. I'm more disappointed that we didn't make better play adjustments in the second half than I am in the O-line play.

Injury updates on Tua Tagovailoa, Deonte Brown after MSU game (BamaOnLine)
quote:

A pair of Alabama offensive starters exited the game against Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon and did not return to the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa took a hit on his quad muscle and could not get the muscle loose because of the cold weather, according to the CBS Sports television broadcast.

"Tua could have gone back in the game if needed to," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said after the game. "He got hit low a few times out there today, and I think he got hit in the front of the knee, not the back, which is what his initial problem was. I think he's OK."

Tagovailoa was sacked four times in the game and exited it on the final takedown behind the line of scrimmage in the third quarter. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Mac Jones to start the fourth quarter. Tagovailoa threw for 164 yards, one touchdown and one interception -- his second of the season -- on 14-of-21 passing. His rushing totals were -24 yards on eight carries.

The sophomore briefly visited the medical tent before riding a stationary bike on the sideline.

Deonte Brown started his third consecutive game at left guard but visited the medical tent in the first quarter and did not return to the game. He was replaced by seven-game starter Lester Cotton.

"Deonte Brown went out of the game, he got turf toe and that may be a little bit more of an issue for him, especially for next week," Saban said.

Alabama will next host The Citadel on Saturday, Nov. 17, for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff.

That was the best defense we'll face this season. And, we handled it well. Those are upper-level NFL guys on MSU's defense.

PCL Strain. He needs rest. It connect the femur to the tibia and it can be painful at times. I’d say sit him.

Hopefully they treat Citadel as an extra bye week for Tua. Jones or Jalen get the start.

Not sure if we even need him against Auburn.

Are y'all blind and dumb?

The injury has been explained 1000 times.

Do y'all see his runs and reactions and how he moves? The knee hurts sometimes. Watch his natural reactions when he celebrates.

The knee has been FINE.

It got banged up late tonight. Y'all don't understand sports if you don't understand why he was in and why certain plays were called. He was fine, so he played. He was fine, so they called certain plays.

Would y'all rather him sit until the SECCG? That isn't how sports work, guys.

I don't know what kind of knee thing I have because I'm old and never been to the doctor for it, and usually it's not flared up and hurting, but I can totally understand this.

I can walk around like nothing is wrong at all. I have no pain. But ask me to walk up a stair or keep my knee bent for longer periods of time and there is a good bit of pain. I can still do it, but there is pain.

Yet, even when it's sore and hurting for the 1 activity, the other activities aren't an issue at all.

So it makes sense to me.

I don’t know how much Hurts will play either. They probably want to rest him up too. Definitely going to be seeing a good bit of Mac next week.

A strained PCL is at least 3 weeks if not more. It affect deceleration and many other things.

I’m all for letting Mac take next week’s game. I don’t think Saban has that mentality but I wish he would. Tua needs to just stay off that leg as much as possible for a week.

Mac needs to get more reps and get his shite together. He made some poor reads tonight, but I think he can be pretty good if he does not allow the moment to overcome him.

Tua will be fine. He looked more explosive today before guys went after his knee today since before Arkansas.

Tua needs to sit next week out. Hell, if Hurts is ready by Auburn I might sit Tua until Georgia. Screw the Heisman, I want the natty.

This is jmho.

It's probable that he has a small meniscus tear.I think Tua has decided to finish the Season before having it Scoped.

I would if I were in his shoes.
