Dude, call a damn timeout sometimes. When our D is out of position, at the end of the half, etc. Just do it, sir.

This is definitely his most consistently frustrating trait.

He's a mediocre game day coach.

I've been saying it for a decade.

Lol. Saban deserves criticism, but saying he’s a mediocre game day coach is funny. How’s hackenbeg doing?

He is.

He let Gus Malzahn drag his nuts across his face 3 times.

He refuses to call timeouts.

He never has the guts to go into the 2 minute offense before the half.

We can't make adjustments unless we go to the half and make them.

How the frick should I know?

Nope, Terry gives Coach a Little Debbie for every timeout he doesn’t use.

He's got a clause in his contract that pays him $10,000 for every unused timeout.

But seriously, one criticism I have is making the 1s play the first drive of the 3rd quarter, regardless of the score. The players have plenty of experience playing games coming out of the half. No reason to trot the 1s out in the 3rd in games against teams like New Mexico State.

Oh no he got out coached 3 times. Don’t mind the 7 championships, he’s got outcoached in three games.

Deserves criticism like I said.

.

Yeah that’s just not true at all. Teams are constantly making adjustments. Don’t worry about all the good he’s done and all the games he’s won, I’m sure those are the doing of other coaches

I could see how not calling timeouts can be frustrating, but you don’t have the success Saban has had being a mediocre gameday coach. There are things he probably does really well but most of us, as fans, don’t see it. I think one great example where he had to make a gutsy call to put us in position to win in what was at the moment a losing game when he benched Jalen for Tua. I get it that that’s one example, but there’s a lot we don’t see.

He’s won seven NC’s and making $10-13 Million a year while we are mere fans and message board posters.

What’s more amazing is that this team has BoB and Golding coaching yet we are at one loss with a chance to win the West and possibly the whole conference.

It's nothing to melt about.

His ability to recruit, prepare and hire coaches is the best ever.

He's just mediocre on Saturdays.

You mean like a head coach should do? Let his coordinators do their job? How does this make him a mediocre game day coach?

I gave you a list of reasons why.

Scroll up.

ETA: I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

Recruit players.
Prepare for the games.
Hire good coaches.

yeah that’s about what I figured. The only thing to game day coaching is timeouts and halftime adjustments. You do you mr QB guru

Oh sorry. Forgot about the 1st half 2 minute drill

I mean, you can suck his dick all you want.

I can be objective on his coaching shortfalls.

So can I. Doesn’t mean he’s a mediocre game day coach.

When was he supposed to call a timeout in this game that he didn’t? Starting at the five with 20 seconds left, it’d be stupid to try to go for points.

When Arkansas had the ball, you couldn’t call timeouts before 4th down because you’d be helping them keep time.
