Unless Jalen figures out how to complete passes it won't matter who runs the offense.

Jalen completed plenty of passes in 2016, and he will only get better.

And Tua is a blind paraplegic so we'll probably go 0-12, right?

He was probably talking about past the line of scrimmage

Yeah, with him at QB, there's no way we can win an SEC Championship or make the play-offs...wait, whut?

According to your chart, he completed 119 passes for 1847 yards and 16 touchdowns past the line of scrimmage last season. If he was talking about past the line of scrimmage, then he is still 100 percent wrong.

Bottom 25th percentile in 4 areas. Ouch.

So Jalen completed 64% of passes between 0-20 yards (NOT including passes behind the LOS) for 15 TDs and 4 INTs? That seems.....not miserable?

Downfield passing at 33%, clearly the biggest area to work on (along with pressure).....but 0-20 yards is not behind the LOS. Can we stop acting like 75% of his completions and yards were on pop passes and WR screens? It just isn't true.

I'm shocked that a true freshman QB in the SEC (plus USC, Washington and Clemson) had a rapidly declining production chart the farther down the field he went. I'm sure that doesn't happen to literally every other true freshman playing QB ever.

95% behind LOS
72% 0-9 yards
51% 10-19 yards
33% 20+ yards

43% completion percentage in any pass beyond 9 yards.

USC, Washington and Clemson

He did jack against 2/3 of those teams. Against AP ranked teams, he had 11 TD 8 INT. Not great.

But what's the "norm" for passes 10+ yards amongst P5 QBs? It can't be better than 50-55%. And those are the throws in which your lack of timing, field vision and susceptibility to pressure make it the hardest, which are all problems every true freshman QB of all time has had.

Again, I'm not arguing Jalen was great, but we don't have to overexagerate how bad he was. He was pretty good from 10 yards in (until the last 3 games). He struggled 10+ yards, and even more so 20+ yards out.

That's very different than "all he could do were pop passes".

Every time someone posts that chart, I ask how that compares to other p5 QBs, and I never get a response. Its hard to assess a stat chart like that with no context.

Who needs a chart, anyway, to know he was horrible with the intermediate to downfield passes this year.

I was disappointed enough since the middle of the season, when it became apparent how much he lacked in the passing game, but when he cost us the national title, I am totally past sugar coating it. That doesn't mean I don't hope he improves. I'm an Alabama fan, so I absolutely hope that, but other than his running ability, he was bad.

Dude, give this up. He did not cost us the National Title. That is just fricking stupid, and you look dumb saying it.

I actually re-watched every offensive play from that NC game earlier, and the majority of his drop back pass plays he was instantly being harassed by Clemson's defense. Our oline sucked arse and got manhandled. Their DBs blanketed our corners most of the game.

Furthermore, he literally single-handedly put us ahead with 2 minutes to go in the game. That play should've been a sack, and he turned it into a 40 yard touchdown.

It was a team loss, and to say that he is to blame is absolutely fricking moronic.

The defense played well enough to win. He can't pass the ball so Clemson contained him and put decent pressure on him and he would bail out. I think he was scared. The offensive line played well enough that a half arse decent quarterback would have been able to sustain more than 2 drives of more than 5 plays. Coker would have won that game. Sims would have won that game. McCarron would have had a field day. Hurts was the player single most responsible for that loss.

You act like a defensive girlfriend regarding Hurts.
