This year will have been Saban's best coaching job. Young team that lost a ton of experience, preseason injuries and a ton of in season injuries, downgrading at OC, and fighting complacency from having won it last season. Pretty amazing to be in the NC game after that year of inconsistent play from everybody but Bryce, Metchie, Anderson, and Williams

It already is regardless of the outcome of Monday.

What About 2014 bama? Despite not winning the title it had a lot of deficiencies that were made up

Covid 2020 was an amazing achievement. It was not just about football,it was crisis management too and nobody came close to how Saban managed it. It was brilliant.
This year is very special; a how to,on coaxing a very green team to play their best while overcoming a National title hangover. Superb.

We had a RB at QB. It was an amazing job. Now it ranks lower than these others because he let Kiffin pick Blake over Jake.

Interesting looking at the different QB styles throughout the seasons.

Truly the player that gives us the best chance to win not "you have to have a dual threat"

I said this last year given all the challenges with COVID and whatnot.

To get this far alone might rank at the top. Monday night would just be a bonus after the Iron Bowl and SEC Title game.

Watching Saban closely this season one could sense that he was pleased (almost surprised) to win some of the games. He knew what he had and it seems like they've over achieved.

I agree. The injury bug has hit us hard from game 1 on. The injuries worry me for this game.

But even if we lose we are stacked for next season and should be back in the playoffs

This!! This team is set up perfect for next season win or lose. What Saban has done with this team this season has been amazing, to even be in this position after the injuries, after being doubted after losing to A&M, and basically having no chance against Georgia in the SEC Championship is truly amazing.

Blake won the team. Doubt Kiffin overruled Saban if he thought Coker gave us the better chance to win. The very next year Coker won the team.

It was pretty well discussed back then thst Kiffin and Coker didn’t really like each other. Kiff prefers a dual threat QB.

I do not buy this or Scroggins would have never left USC if that was the case. Kiff may not have gotten along with Coker, though I do not recall that, but Kiffin is always looking to put players on the field that he believes gives him the best chance to win.

People always say this yet Coker was a much better QB for our offense. It was proven the next year. No one respected Blake’s arm. Everyone loaded the box against us. It was absolutely amazing that we made it to the playoffs

Yeah this is not based on reality. Blake had one of the prettiest and most accurate deep balls.

Should have played for the title that year too. Derrick was running all over Ohio State.

Yeah I would disagree with this too. Yeldon and Henry both fell just short of a thousand yards rushing, had over a thousand yards from scrimmage, and had over 5 yards a carry. This helped Sims and Cooper, and Sims had arguably the greatest season for a Bama QB up to that point and Cooper had the greatest season for a WR up until Devonta came along. Just watch a replay of the Florida game from that year, Blake threw beautiful deep balls. He struggled on skipping some of his intermediate throws.

ETA: Lane offenses at Bama were centered around getting the ball to his best player. In 2014 that was Cooper, in 2015 that was Henry.
