despite the run game and OL being markedly improved.

I just haven’t seen that at all. Rarely any holes to run through and pass pro is abysmal . May not always show up as sacks but Bryce gets hit or hurried it seems every throw . My memory is not what it used to be but I don’t really remember a long run since the Texas game. Usually get no push in the run game . #55 pulled and made a good block Saturday but it is few and far between as compared to what we are used to

Me too. I’ve read he is the best of the bunch but he has been injured.

Read/heard anything about Shazz Preston? Thought he would get some time.

Yeah they looked improved in some games in the first half of the season, but not now. Although, like most of our offensive players, they have shown that they CAN excel, but they are not consistent. After getting stifled all game against OM, we flipped a switch in the 4th quarter, and McClellan was gashing them. Why can't they do that all game?

Everytime we've decided to consistently run the ball our OL has started to open up holes.

- Arkansas 4th quarter (12 carries, 242 yards, 20.2 YPA)
- Texas A&M game (51 carries, 256 yards, 5.6 YPA)
- LSU 2nd half (18 carries, 96 yards, 5.3 YPA)
- Ole Miss 4th quarter (17 carries, 90 yards, 5.3 YPA)

I don't mean we need to run the ball every single down, but it's clear when we are in a rhythm and running the ball compared to the numerous drives where BoB calls 3 straight drop back passes and then sprinkles a random run in there.

The blocking is night and day different.

I think we had 108yds rushing against OM at 3ypc… you are right about the 4th qtr but if you really look at it, Mclellan ran hard and many times dragged defenders for tough yards

We're going to get a new OC and people will pretend they didn't say our WR talent sucks the last season.

Most importantly in those stats is that they weren't 1 good run and 7 0 or 1 yard runs.

Against Ole Miss in the 4th quarter

- 1 run for 0 or loss of yards
- 3 runs for 1 yard
- 6 runs for 3-5 yards
- 7 runs for 6+ yards

13 of the 17 runs in the 4th quarter went for 3 yards or more. LSU was similar.

When we give our OL a chance to get their feet under them and develop a little momentum we've run the ball much better all year. We just almost never seem to decide to do it until, I'm assuming, Saban yells into the microphone for BoB to do it sometime in the 2nd half.

I don’t really know anything about him other than he was ranked 50th and a 4 star.

I had seen someone (recruiting person) say Preston reminded him of Jamar Chase. Take that with a grain of salt. I guess I am surprised he has never played. Maybe he is injured.

Was also hoping from something from Aaron Anderson.

I think next year will be better because all these guys will be sophomores and hopefully Harrell is healthy and don't forget Bama signed the number 1 JUCO wide receiver in the nation in Malik Beason. He is 6'1" and caught 43 balls for 1,229 yard in 2021 with 11 touchdowns.

My Question, is who the hell is going to throw to them?

I love the Milroe kid........but he is going to need someone like Lane to come in and put him in situations to make him successful. We all know that BoB can't do that. Will Simpson light it up? IDK, but QB is going to a huge question mark going into next season.

Saban’s quote the other day was saying we run the type of offense we do ( drop back passing / his words ) bc of BY and he thought we would go back to more traditional spread with RPO for the next QB

Milroe is an electrifying athlete but not a QB. Gus Malzahn would do wonders for him in that offense. Alabama might need to go to the transfer portal at QB. Not sure if Ty Simpson is going to be ready next year.

Milroe is built to run a Gus Malzahn offense as long as he gets a lot bet at reading the option play (he was awfuuuuuuuul at it in the A&M game).

But the physical traits are very much Nick Marshall. Big arm, tough runner and electric speed. Total package for that offense.

I don't get the panic about QB next season. We have two very capable QBs behind Bryce. Of course there is going to be some dropoff after one of the best QBs to ever play for Bama, but we've been in much, much worse situations at QB than this and ended up just fine. It really all depends on getting a competent OC though.
