You think it’s a rebuilding thing this year...just wait until next year.

You mean Tua and the receivers have us on a short list of contenders.

Because right now the OL couldn’t push your granny out of the way. They played a little better today and consequently the RBs improved. Najee actually looked pretty good today. Which means if history is any guide, he will disappear again next week. We got pushed around on defense by a middling SEC east school today and gashed by Rico Dowdle for 102 yards and 8.5 yards a carry.

Some people are blaming the coaches for the defensive woes but if you are playing freshmen out of necessity and they don’t know or forget their assignments, what are they to do? And on some plays like the TD throw in the first half, the kids were there, they just didn’t make the play.

Bottom line is we have a championship grade passing attack at this moment and not much else. Most of it can improve and be fixed to become what it needs to be. But some things like getting run through on defense and not being able to run should really concern us.

The SEC Champ game isn't until early Dec and CFP in late Dec - early Jan. Is it impossible for the team to improve week to week?

That’s why Clemson is so annoying. They have to go and beat those amazing teams we had? And it’s like we were so off what we were all season in both those title gmez

I like this team but we are in trouble defensively. Too much youth among the ILBers and the lack of a pass rush is hurting us. If we don't get this fixed by the time we play LSU we will be in a shootout with LSU.

Bama has to establish a running game that is at least serviceable in order to control the ball and help the struggling defense, because the defense isn’t going to get considerably better this season...they just don’t have the alphas OR the depth.

If our offense looks like Oklahoma’s, expect the defense to do likewise.

If our defense doesn't get better than it was in week 3 we have a much bigger problem than playing 3 freshmen on the D. That is coaching, period. That's Golding and company not building expectations and not giving them the tools to be successful and improve. Supposedly, that was a big issue last season and we went out and got some detail kind of guys.

Otherwise, you should check out the NFL draft picks that haven't come off of Oklahoma's defense in the last 5 years. It shouldn't take long for a rational person to realize we aren't the sooner's defense.

Defense needs works obviously, but if you think that we can't win it all with the offense that we have, then I don't know what to tell you.

With the OL problems? Do you realize what another top 5 team with a stout front 7 could do to that?

Have you got a defensive team in mind?

How many years in a row is it now that we have been completely unable to pick up a RB coming out of the backfield or a TE that runs to the flats?

This. OP is spoiled. Wait until the best player at the most important position in the history of the program leaves to get drafted first overall.

That's a real blow.

No doubt. If we're melting down now after a win, I can see it now people going nuclear next season when Mac Jones takes over for Tua.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. We are taking whatever the Def gives. So far it’s working just fine. We will see truly how much balance we need as we get into tougher competition.

What's the word on Labryan Ray ? Will he be back for aTm ? Hope that the defense can get settled by time that game is played.

The defensive line needs more disruption. Lewis needs to stay healthy. Christian Barmore looked good yesterday despite the targeting call.

24 point SEC road win where we left 8 easy points on the field (3 instead of 7 on Tennison TD, missed 37 yard FG, missed XP) and this is what we get.

Sky is falling nonsense.

3 games in, offense is championship caliber. Running game will get going once opponents stop crowding the line of scrimmage & offensive line gets better continuity but for now we'll continue killing them with slants & quick passes.
Defense is okay at best & will probably not be dominant this year. There's a few games remaining opponents will get 30+ on this years defense. As long as our offense continues to be explosive we'll hopefully outscore A&M, LSU, & Auburn.
Bottom line, unlike previous years, those games aren't lock wins & neither is going to Atlanta early December.
This year looks to be 1 of Saban's biggest challenges as a HC.
