We don't know if our kicking will be horrible or not. The guy pegged to kick this fall won't be on campus until the summer.
Previous experience tells us that our expectations should be pretty low. If you just embrace the fact that it will be shitty, you'll be overjoyed with adequate play.

Jarrett Stidham and Deshaun Watson did.
Jarret Stidham threw 10+ passes in 4 games his freshman season. Against Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, and OK State.
Deshaun Watson (a phenomenal college qb) only had 10+ attempts in 4 games his freshman season. His were against FSU, UNC, NC State, and South Carolina.
Each of whom had a 1st round receiver on their team, so it's not like they did it on their own.
Jalen on the other hand, threw 10+ passes in fifteen games and only lost one of them. Against the toughest strength of schedule in the nation, including neutral/road games against USC, Florida, LSU, Washington, and Clemson.

Josh Rosen I'd say had a better true freshman season than Hurts especially given Hurts had one of the best supporting casts in history.
Jalen had a higher completion percentage, better TD:INT ratio, and similar Y/A stats. He also out-gained him on the ground by nearly 950yds and 11TDs. Oh yeah and Rosen was the #1 pro-style recruit in his cycle.
He was good last year. He struggled in some big games, when there was coaching controversy and we probably didn't have the best offensive gameplan. The kid was 18 years old and did really well for the bulk of the season. I don't know why we expect a true frosh to come in and be '84 Joe Montana. He does have some areas that he needs to improve upon and I fully expect him to do so.

So how did he throw for nearly 3000 yards with no deep ball?
For one thing he played in 15 freaking games. Another thing is 2 of those didn't play pass defense like State and Tennessee. Several of those long passing yds were jet sweeps. Others were screen passes to elite receivers. He couldn't even make Kentucky pay through the air despite it being our gameplan. We love the way he runs but the good defenses shut that shite down and I hate to be ugly but Jalen Hurts sucks as a passer. For the teams sake I hope he gets better than 47 percent completions for 100 yds.

He tore up Kentucky through the air. More so than Lamar Jackson, Josh Dobbs, and Jacob Eason against UK. Del Rio from Florida was the only one that had a better day passing against Kentucky in 2016. Come on man.

Jalen Hurts sucks as a passer.

I hope the guy does well this year. But, this is just not true. He made very few "really, really nice throws" last year. If he'd been playing for any other team, everyone here would agree with that.

He made a good amount of nice throws. Maybe not 'many', but quite more than 'very few.'
For a true freshman, I'd say that he made enough for us know that he is capable of being a good passer.

Has nothing to do with it.

Let's go with "several."

I'll compromise and allow, "a small handful."

Then why try to convince everyone that Jalen sucks in every post. All you have tried to point out is how bad he is. Then when someone disagrees, you say "didn't really want this to turn into another Jalen sucks/ Jalen is the GOAT thread"

What? Before posting that all I had said was that I thought his deep ball was okay last year and had improved, and that I was sure he would be the starter. Once it became that, I made my opinion about Hurts last year known which is that he wasn't good enough down the stretch of the season. I don't think Jalen sucks far from it actually.

I wish he was the passer that Tua is but he did at least throw catchable balls and you know he can pick up big plays when things break down. Gonna be a fun year on offense.
