They could come in and surprise the shite out of us but we could also beat them pretty bad. We'll see....

SCARBO ARTICLE

Scarbo lost me when he started to compare Saban's record against Auburn when he was at LSU.

History shows that the favored team usually wins the Iron Bowl. I am not saying an upset is totally inevitable but the probability is very low.

They've been riding high on a lot of emotion and luck. I say frick that. Bama has sheer talent. Bama rolls.

One last thing: is no one else disturbed by the similarities to 1989? I was 6 years old and it's the first IB I have a definite memory of. Not the details, but the result. I was looking up stats and the similarities are uncanny.

OP, do not let an article by Kevin Scarbinksy make you nervous. Kevin loves the Aubs because when he moved to Birmingham (1980's) covering the barn was his first assignment.

Kevin is pretty good. I agree with his articles more often than not.

I'm not. 1989 has no effect on 2013.

Worry is a useless emotion that has no bearing on the outcome of any event. It's only positive is that it may serve as a reminder that a potential negative outcome is possible without the proper preparation. However, as a fan, your worry serves no purpose and subconsciously enables you to make foolish statements regarding said event to which you have chance of changing.

Bama is the better team. That is my in depth analysis.

This team is pretty good stopping the run. I'm much more worried about a good passing team that would take advantage of our suspect secondary such as Florida State or Baylor. They match up pretty well with Auburn. I see Bama winning pretty comfortably like a 38-20 type score.

Bama has better depth and will wear down the AU defense by the end of 3rd qtr.

Will AU have some big plays? More than likely, yes.

BUT.......

Ball control will be crucial and Bama is more balanced than AU. I see Bama sustaining long drives, eating up clock, wearing down the AU defense and limiting the number of plays for the AU offense.

We have improved a great deal since our second game, but I would compare this game to a&m.

-Biggest game in the history of our opponents stadium

- Running QB/ HUNH

What did we do we made them pass and it was very successful, but we knew we could score and if he aired it out all afternoon he would make enough mistakes for us to win and his two picks were the difference.

Two biggest differences I see

1) We are not going to waste our first two possessions on O.

2)Marshall is less dynamic running and his not anywhere near the passer.

Tusk says a very similar game and score to the LSU game. 41-17 and the Barners stay to sing the fight song and display their pride. Roll Tide!

And as far as scab goes... Saban has blown any of that out of the water. Remember Alabama doesn't beat auburn in BD? LSU doesnt lose in death valley? Alabama can't beat LSU in BD? Les doesn't lose when given more than a week to prepare? Tim Tebow? Could Auburn win sure... They will have to win the x&os plus out fight us.

To me the first quarter is key. If we come out flat like UGA did, it will be a dogfight. If we come out ready to play and withstand the early wave of emotion, we'll be ok.
