I have heard rumors he has left a bad taste in some people’s mouth inside the program. I was watching the Big Man on Campus show from last week. Boyd, White and Hearst all sat down with the current staff at Clemson, OU and UGA respectively.

It stuck out like a sore thumb he was taking with the guy that owns Rama Jamas rather than the staff.

I always assumed it was school girl gossip but does anyone know the reason.

Greg is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, especially for a QB.

I've never heard he was on bad terms with the staff.

Just seems like he goes over the top to not be a homer IMO.

He’s kind of like Kirk Herbstreit, in that respect, trying really hard to not seem biased. Herbstreit was run out of Ohio and relocated his whole family to Nashville because of all the hate he got from OSU fans because they thought he was disloyal OSU.

I don't know anything about that stuff, but the only thing that bothers me about him is he is almost anti-bama in the media trying to not be a homer.

It's like I know he doesn't really think that, but if he says what he actually thinks it'll sound like a homer.

It works for Herb, so can't blame him really but at times it's off putting for me.

Rumors = comments across message boards over the years. I don’t claim to have any real source. It just stuck out that everyone else met with the staff and Greg is at Rama Jamas.

I think he goes out of his way to be "nuetral" to the Tide, to not seem like a homer and seem more professional. With that, he seems to probably go a little too much away from Bama (eg. always picking LSU to beat Alabama)
So that can rub us Bama fans the wrong way. I think he is studying Herbie and how he handles tOSU.

I used to have a buddy that ran into AJ on a few occasions around campus, when I asked what kind of person he was I got the answer I kinda assumed I would get, a D bag with a slight god complex and arrogance, he supposedly witnessed AJ verbally start a fight and then step behind some linemen that were out with him that night. I can't confirm any of this but my friend had no reason to lie about it and honestly when I look at AJ I can't disagree with his overall assessment.

I noticed that I never see him. I mean Kamara was on the sideline at the Sugar Bowl (I know he plays for the Saints but still). What is the deal with AJ?

I saw a video showing the reaction of Finebaum, Chizik, and McElroy to the game winning TD in real time. Of the three, McElroy had the least enthusiastic reaction - almost no reaction at all

He's not a fan

I know he came to visit Saban recently, but that's about it. I know lot of players weren't big fan of him.. but at least... come out and catch up with some players.

Nope. Not true.

After the 2016 victory over Clemson McElroy was doing on field post game for SEC network. The first words out of his mouth were "Roll Tide". He remarked that he knew he shouldn't have said that, but it was a damned good game and he couldn't help himself. It was the only time I've seen an on air guy go so hard for his team.

These guys are in a tough situation. Barrett Jones was commenting on his call of the Bama MSU game; Bama fans said he wasn't Bama enough and other fans said he was a homer.
