Golden owns Oats, that certainly isn’t going to change this year with their massive frontcourt advantage.
We also have a massive backcourt advantage that we didn't have last year.

And Arizona is going to do unspeakable things to our bigs
Now this one is going to be tough. Purdue and Arizona are the clear #1 and #2 teams IMO and it has a lot to do with their Backcourt/Frontcourt combination.

Gonzaga is better than purdue

Grant Foster will eat Braden smith alive

We should win the rest of them except Arizona. That is 50/50
We won’t beat Golden, but they’ll lose a few because their guards aren’t good.

Up front yeah. Purdue is better in the backcourt.

I will take Grant Foster over Purdues entire backcourt

Braden Smith isn’t a coincidental all-American. He literally exists to facilitate monsters like Kaufman-Renn.

He's a great, below the rim point guard who plays exceptionally well to his strengths. But he will run into a brick wall against large athletic guards. He always has

Their roster management allowed them to control the blocks and win without shooting well. we don’t value that when building the team. We can say we do, but it doesn’t show.
3 of our 4 transfer portal additions were bigs. Sherrell was also a pretty highly regarded recruit when he came out of high school. It seems like we just missed.
I didn’t follow as closely this offseason as I used to. Did everyone know Williamson was going to offer nothing?

And at this point he dishes to one of those monster forwards Purdue has.
He’s an all-American for a reason.

Mark Sears was an All American too until he ran into large long athletic guards. Same argument, Gonzaga has nba players in their backcourt, Purdue does not

I will say that 1 thing that drives me crazy about really the last 3 teams…too many times we get stuck ball watching and forgetting about the guy we are suppose to be Guarding leading to a wide open 3

Why are you here?
Hard to know anyone’s motives for sure, but it seems like he primarily shows up when Alabama is struggling and especially now since AU looks better than they did earlier in the year. At least he hasn’t made any comments that seem to be overtly in bad taste.
But I don’t think he understands that when your team is struggling, the last thing you want to see is a fan of a rival, including his compliments. Just save them for a general Alabama BB thread at a later time. (In all fairness, at least he identifies as an AU fan - though that doesn’t justify it.).

We went from Nelson and Bediako to Sherell and Williamson
No, from Nelson and Sherell to Sherell and Bol Bowen. Bediako has been gone for 3 years now. Sherell is a little above avg on D but like Bediako, is below avg on the boards, as is often the case with decent bigs because of positioning and focus when many of the shots go up.
At this point Bol Bowen is a bigger problem because of his lack intensity at times. Oats challenged him once and it seemed to work for a game or two.
IMO, Alabama has enough front court talent (Sherell, Bol Bowen, Bristow) to make a run without being smoking from 3, if they all play up to their demonstrated or reasonable potential. Especially since Allen is a tough wing (Alabama’s top rebounder), who plays like it.
Unless there is a dramatic change, Williamson does not look like he is going to be of any help.

If they ain't trolling and add to the conversation I say let opposing teams fans join the conversation.

IMO, there are few rival fans who are welcome when your team is struggling. His comments are usually not the problem - it’s when he shows up.
If he wants to come by during a win - fine. But he hasn’t, so even more so, I don’t care to see him when Alabama is struggling. But even if he did I don’t care to see a rival fan when struggling. My guess is that he knows but maybe not, but he shows a lack of understanding of human nature and propriety. He’s not a dumb man but maybe he has a blind spot.

Remove their logo and read their posts and I'd say they brought better commentary than most in this thread.

I only watched the first half but I though Sherrell played one of his better games. In looking at the stat sheet this was our first game in a while where we had more than 10 TO's with our PG having 6 of those.
We missed a lot of FT's in the game with our PG missing a number. I was impressed with the D intensity down low where we were swarming their bigs when they got the ball.

Credit to Gonzaga for playing good defense.
Bama can't afford to not rebound well AND have a poor shooting performance. At least not against top teams. If Holloway shoots 4-10 from 3 (he shot 41.7% last year) instead of 2-10 and we shoot 70-75% from the line that's 8-10 points and it's a different game.
But, if you're going to give up a ton of offensive rebounds, you can expect to struggle on the nights when shots aren't falling. SOME of the rebounding struggles have to be related to us trying to run the moment the ball comes off the rim. We seem to be out of position a lot. Bristow is a rebounding machine. It would be nice if he could knock down shots.
Anyway, we missed a lot of shots. Even the bigs had layups rim out. And we gave up 3,000 offensive boards. Recipe for disaster against Gonzaga.
