Friends I trust who've attended Texas and Ole Miss games have said they haven't seen a defense like this in many years and have a chance of being elite.

Was an overreaction but that was a bad missed assignment/def play call.

I hate that we lost Jam Miller for the first half this week. That was a tone setting hit that he laid on the kickoff.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well Blackshire and Keenan have looked so far. I wish that Justin Jefferson could get up to speed soon. Especially if Lawson can’t play this week.

Agreed as our defense and special are playing at the level we need to win but just need the offense to come along with them, especially have to develop a run game to help out our QB.

I never thought Golding was bad but I thought he tried to be the smartest person in the room. Golding was so complex but would not correct simple mistakes, a te would either leak in the flat or across the middle, 2 to 3 times a game, just wide OPEN!!

The qb draw Ole Miss scored on would have been open all night on him, since he didn’t believe in adjustments. What Steele has done in a short time is down right amazing, this defense is good enough to let the offense figure things out and hold down the fort

Oh how I wish I could go back to BOL and find all those posters who argued with me that "Golding wasn't the problem"...

Just tell those big OL to stop grabbing and hit somebody..drive them into the ground. There is NEVER an excuse for a facemask penalty or holding. Never.

Drive those bastards out of the hole make them pay every play.

Crazy thing is, Reichard had two kickoffs out of bounds on Saturday which is rare for him. He’s usually very consistent getting touchbacks or deep enough for our coverage units to make the tackle quickly.

Yeah he did. He was pissed about too. I think he cleans that up.

Yeah it kinda brought back memories of when Ruben Foster played special teams.

Defense is heading in the right direction. I will say we have been sloppy in the first few games though.

The practices that I've seen look very soft compared to previous years. That maybe why we had a slower start? Thoughts?

His plant foot needs to move about 1-1/2" toward the sideline and 1 " toward the goalpost. That should fix his leg swing accuracy.

My spelling accuracy needs more work than his leg swing.

special teams

Maybe by the end of the year I'll be convinced that we know to get the frick out of the way of a bouncing punt. After it...among other things...cost us the Tennessee game last year, I would have thought it would never happen again.
