If you can win a title with Mcelroy you can win one with Milroe. That guy didn't have a spec of athletic ability.
Geez man, talk about apples to oranges. The game today is hardly the same sport.
With that said i think youd be surprised what Rees could have done with mcelroy. He damn sure wouldnt be taking one 15yd loss sack after the other, and he would know how to adjust the defense to the pressures pre snap. Youd be surprised how much that alone would have helped.
Also if the over under is 116 yards passing with that roster ill give mcelroy the over

There is only one rational thing to do. NEVER guarantee a spot to anyone.
Coach up everyone. Play the best.
So there should always be a QB competition. Why would a 4 or 5 star qb sign with any program that ever shuts down competition?
One caviate. If the players are very close, play the younger one, or the one with the higher ceiling.

You can't just pick a guy and know he's going to be great.
So you think Kelly threw a dart at the board ?
You think the same nfl franchises clean house in the draft while others sign nothing but busts is a coincidence?

It’s rational, but negated by the portal and NIL. It neuters the coaches.

McElroy was sacked 4 times for -22 yards against Texas and was 6/11 passing for 58 yards and no TDs.
Check out his first pass attempt: LINK
Yeah yeah, he was hurt. But he played like dog shite and the team still won.

I know my Bama history. Ill still take a healthy (without broken ribs) mcelroy WITH an OC like Rees over Milroe.
Now if Lane Kiffin is calling the plays id take Milroe all day.
See how it works ?

Kelly had no idea what he had in Jayden Daniels when he signed him. He didn't recruit him at Notre Dame either.

Not saying I want to just go get a transfer guy. Just not sold on sayin til he gets to learn in the system and show what he can do

How many titles did we win with Bryce Young as our starter? Or Tua? I'm trying to remember.
Both started when Tosh Lupoi or Golding was coaching the defense. Tua couldn’t stay healthy. This year’s defense did enough to be elite if we had a QB that could read a defense. You can’t tell me the game goes the same way if Bryce Young is taking snaps this past Monday.

Mac threw 2 pick sixes which cost us the Iron Bowl in 2019.
One of those interceptions was horrible, the other was a freak deflection. Jones also threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns in that game. That would have been the greatest game of Milroe's career by a wide margin even including the interceptions.

One was an immediate 14 pt swing.

That was the fluke deflection. Harris didn't get his head around fast enough. I don't understand some people to get this for the same reason they can't understand why Milroe getting sacked after holding the ball for ten seconds isn't on the offensive line. At any rate, there's no point relitigating a game from over four years ago. Anyone who thinks Milroe will ever develop to rival Jones' 2020 season is an abject retard who doesn't understand the most basic fundamentals of the quarterback position.

Thank you for making my point for me. There’s more to a team than the quarterback.

The defense will take a step back in experience next season. Milroe has no choices but to improve, get benched, or lose.
