Tua didn’t win it as a starter but he gets credit for that Natty. He held up the trophy.
We should aspire to be the 2020 offense. Elite, powerful O line. Elite RB and run game. Elite passing game. That was the best Bama offense under Nick and it was as balanced as possible. That is what an Alabama offense should look like.
Now there are different ways to accomplish that balance and you can utilize QB run with a dual threat guy like Milroe but we need more efficiency in the pass game overall. Top to bottom.

I want whoever gives us the best chance to win. If Sayin is as advertised awesome. If Jalen takes another step forward great. If Lonergan is a dude thats great too. I just think a lot of people are letting the final game of the season make them forget Jalen did a lot of good things for us this year and we don't win the SEC or make the playoff without him
Agree with the part about the best person and agree that Jalen took big leaps, but.....he fell back into old habits a little too. A come back story is always nice, but I'd rather have a new Mercedes than a rebuilt Buick.

How many titles did we win with Tua?
Tua and 26 = 1
Actually my favorite Bama moment of all time. Freaking 50yd laser beam to the slim reaper for a walkoff title. :Chills:

I mean he should get credit for the NC title game win, he led us back from a deficit and threw the game winning pass.

The #1 QB for 2023 was Arch Manning. He did not start a game as a freshman and likely won't be starting going into his second year.
Drew Allar didn't start any games as a freshman.
Bryce Young didn't start as a freshman.
Most high profile QBs don't start as a freshman. Waiting 3 years would be unusual, but not unheard of.
Expecting Sayin to be a backup as a freshman should be the expectation.

Like it or not Milroes gonna be the qb next year, sorry bud.
I 100% agree. It would be a tragedy if we came this far, invested all this time, all these game snaps, and he didn't play next year.
But...
Next season you'll start to hear "we are expanding the playbook." They're gonna teach milroe how to throw a slant, how to throw a receiver open, etc., etc., and I just hope we dont see 3 turnovers a game because by golly we are gonna turn that athlete into a QB.
If that happens I really hope the leash is very short, and Sayin, Lonergan, or Simpson get their shot, because if not they will all be gone to the highest bidder, and probably make us all look like idiots as they go on to have prolific careers at QB.
However we know that's not how this is going down. It's ride or die with 4, and CNS usually doesn't change course until it is too late.
Edit* My main point is in this time of transfer and guns for hire Alabama should NEVER recruit another project athlete QB. Never, ever, ever,

That may be the goal at other programs, but at Bama the goal is to win a title.
CNS said it best... the air gets thinner as you climb the mountain, the closer you get to the summit the harder it gets.
Lots of people can make it to base camp. Especially next year.

Alabama's collective/booster braintrust was not aggressive enough in the offseason. If they didn't know we needed a man at QB after the TAMU game then they weren't paying attention. It seems like they put their energy into flipping Maye through back channels rather than pursuing the wares on the market. Maye was never going to leave his family's legacy university. We missed our chance of having him when Mack Brown went to UNC.

Milroe had 321 yards and 3 TDs against TAMU. What are you talking about?

Hes talking about last year, bro.
Milroe started went 12-19 for like 110 yards an interception, and probably a fumble but im not looking that shite up

Mac threw 2 pick sixes which cost us the Iron Bowl in 2019. So what? You can't base everything off that one game. Good grief.

I might be in the minority, but Sayin's hs tape does not impress me nearly as much as Tua's or Bryce. This doesn't mean anything but I personally wouldn't just proclaim him the next great thing

Then identify the best free agent QB on the market and pay the man. Its really simple now.
Posted on 1/3/24 at 2:00 pm to PowHound
Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow, 2 guys who transferred and won Heismans, were not "the best free agent QB".
Jayden Daniels was ranked behind Levi Williams and Connor Bazelak as far as transfer portal QBs go.
You can't just pick a guy and know he's going to be great.

But you can prepare for unfavorable variables.
My education and training is in emergency management so i probably have a more keen eye for potential issues and how to best mitigate those issues even if they never happen.
What i can tell you that you can count on... its always better to have a plan A, B, and C

If you can win a title with Mcelroy you can win one with Milroe. That guy didn't have a spec of athletic ability.
