Unless something dramatically changes with our play calling on both sides of the ball I could care less about the playoffs and start focusing on what needs to be done for next year.

Doubt it but I believe UNC can

Very possible and could drop the game to ND this weekend.

quote:

TCU to choke which is probable

Possible but they have won so many close games so far not seeing it but still possible.

The issue though is if the OSU/UM game is close I would think the loser of that game would stay ahead of us and rightfully so. The other issue even though I doubt it happens is if LSU beats UGA. My guess they both would go. LSU will probably be sitting 5th in the next rankings and they were able to be the #1 team they will end up top 4 and UGA would stay in the top 4.

And for the record most predictions out today show Alabama dropping to #9 with UT still in front of them and Clemson jumping to 7. A lot of it is based of who we just beat that added nothing to our resume.

Well the AP poll doesn’t agree UT went below Bama. I think Bama has a real shot at the playoff if USC and TCU drop it. Not saying I want it or we deserve it.

It’s good for the school regardless of the outcome in reality.

What predictions are you reading?

No way they keep tenn with an injured QB who just got bear by 25 over us.

FFS you defeatist need to understand we lost on a last second field goal AWAY from home. The committee didn't even drop us that bad and had us still ranked 8th.

Is it shocking they think our conference is the best and have four of the top 8 from the SEC?

I don’t have much confidence in winning the national championship, but there’s not a guarantee that Alabama is out. Another loss for Clemson and USC, a blowout loss for Michigan or OSU, and Georgia beating LSU will have Bama at #4…

…if Bama beats Auburn convincingly

I am no defeatist just seeing what has happened. And yes I remember how we lost to UT and LSU. I also remember how we got lucky that the Texas QB got hurt and Jumbo called the wrong play at the end. The committee also sees this.

You’re right. However, there are clearly issues with the program right now and this Bama team is not a very good team. I think it is fair to be concerned about the outlook of the program compared to what we’re used to. I also think it is fair to say that, while it’s technically possible for Alabama to make the playoff, this team is not playoff caliber.

Of course we’ll deserve it if we make it. We started the year ranked No 1 for several weeks for a reason.
We have underperformed but that worm can turn anytime if you have the talent on hand. I for one, hope we can sneak in anyway we can.

Like I said any playoff birth is good for the school/team regardless of the outcome.

You could be describing TCU right now yet all these defeatist think they are worthy.

It's ironic because they love to boast about how tough our conference is then ignore that at times like these where having to play in such a tough conference should actually count.

Then this moronic idea of not wanting to be in the playoffs like the exposure would be bad or something. As if it would be negative for recruiting or our brand to be seen as unstoppable... seen as a forgone conclusion that Alabama always makes it to the playoffs.

It is nothing but good. Then again life is about perspective. Bible says "So as a man thinketh, so is he". Some people see the opportunities and they probably have a great life because of it. Others.. well they don't.

For me we are fighting to be in until we physically can't be.

I understand it is your opinion so no validity to it other than you believe it but the one fact in all of this is TCU is still undefeated and will be playing for their CCG.

I agree our conference tends to be the toughest but if our conference was setup like the PAC12 and B12 currently we would likely be with one more loss. Remember both of those conferences no longer have divisions so we would have played UGA as well this season and I would wager we would have 1 more loss and clearly out of the picture.

Interesting because is this not how OU is perceived in a negative way.

Your right it is about perspective but sometimes you have face reality and in the end ask yourself to what means. Right now I do not see UA as being one of the 4 best teams in the country. Do we have the talent yes but the staff has demonstrated over the last 13 or 14 weeks they do not know how to maximize it. So why do you believe that would change in a month.?

This is not an opinion TCU were a play from losing to Baylor and OSU and were a drive or missed FGs away from dropping games to Kansas, Texas (same as us) and Kansas State.

Why? USC didn't play Oregon and won't till the championship game. B12 doesn't have the number of members we have.

Another bad excuse.

So now OU is Alabama. I see you defeatist are coming full circle.

That is my point.

Some people face reality and wonder why they can't ever get over that hump in life. Others continue to believe and persevere till the end.

I'm the later. I believe Saban and his previous teams are like this as well.

I choose to believe because anything can happen. For all we know Bill O'Brien will leave for his school next Monday and half of our problem us solved. Regardless even in the face of failure I choose to believe. Downvote it. Won't change a thing

Usually I have nothing against your posting but because someone disagrees with you does not mean they are wrong. I know you think what you post is the gospel but it is only an opinion and nothing more. People like you need to understand that, but fail to do so and become aggressive when others do not agree.

Again another opinion/assumption you are proving once again you are clueless. You have no idea what humps I have over come or how I have persevered but you can not fathom the idea that your opinion is wrong because one hump you seem to fail every time not getting over is your own ego.

quote:

Downvote it. Won't change a thing

Never down vote as I see no need to since you are unable to see who is behind it. And you are right no matter what anyone says if they disagree with you they are wrong. Have a great day.

We are NOTHING like OU in perception. OU makes playoffs and gets destroyed every time. We get in playoffs and make it to the championship and we usually win it when we get there.

2014 - lost in playoff rd 1
2015-2018. Made it championship game winning in both 2015 and 2017
2019- didn't make playoffs
2020- made it and won it
2021- made it and lost championship

Just based on that we are nothing even close to OU

I've given up on this year in the sense that we may make the playoffs

But, our problems will still be there and I think everyone is jockeying to get rolled by GA.

I couldn't believe how bad MI looked Saturday
and how we aren't THAT bad by national standards for this year.

We just suck vs. GA (and the Old Bama standard)
