bullshite.
Cignetti absolutely would come for the right amount of money, and we can pay it.

DeBoer more than likely gets two more years, we are not Auburn.
Keeping an utterly incompetent head coach and even more incompetent staff for two more years simply because "we're not Auburn" is the height of stupidity.

You clearly don't do football very well.
You’re right. Guys that have the highest winning percentages against ranked teams in the history of college football (min 10 games) are bottom tier coaches and way below all the others with worse records.
By all means, please educate us

You can’t assume Cognetti would do the same thing here as at IU. I think we have some leftover culture rot from Saban’s final years.

I think the thrust of that statement is “we’re not going to start firing coaches every 3 years and get our program stuck in an aimless morass.”
I think he gets 4 seasons and we’ll go from there. Alabama needs to be intentional with how they approach this process post-Saban. I don’t think how this new reality irrespective of us being without our all time great coach is even figured out yet. NIL, player freedom of movement, the playoff structure, etc are all in flux still.
Auburn has boned themselves because they’ve had two abortive hires - one by the AD, one by power brokers - while all these external factors were just entering the picture.
It would be nice to not make a new coaching hire until a lot of these things are settled out in congress, courts, etc. Hard to know how to ace the test when the content changes yearly it seems.

That's why assistant coaches need to be on the list if it comes to that.

You keep spamming this like its some incredibly clever gotcha statement. But the fact remains that DeBoer's record against top teams and top coaches is pretty damn good. Yesterday was inexcusable by any standard but his past performance indicates he is capable of righting the ship and beating these teams in the future.

Why would we want him, unless he’s coming back to be the OL Coach.
