Here’s my best guess at the depth chart. Please correct me in places I’m wrong...

OFFENSE

QB - Bryce Young 5*
RB - Brian Robinson Jr. 4*
WR - John Metchie III 4*
WR - Agiye Hall 4*
WR - Slade Bolden 4*
TE - Jahleel Billingsley 4*
LT - Evan Neal 5*
LG - Pierce Quick 5*
C - Chris Owens 4*
RG - Emil Eyikor Jr. 4*
RT - JC Latham 5*

DEFENSE

DE - LaBryan Ray 5*
DT - Tim Smith 5*
DE - DJ Dale 4*
OLB - Will Anderson Jr. 5*
MLB - Christian Harris 4*
MLB - Henry To’o To’o 4*
OLB - Chris Allen 4*
CB - Josh Jobe 4*
CB - Jalyn Armour-Davis 4*
S - Jordan Battle 4*
S - Malachi Moore 4*

Do we seem as stacked as normal? I don’t feel the skilled offensive players or the back of the defense is as star-studded as usual.

Quick, Hall, and Latham havent locked down starting spots on offense yet.

I agree on that defensive group. But Moody might start in the middle.

But yeah, we are stacked. Malachi Moore and Jordan Battle are as good of a safety duo as we have had in a few years. Hopefully Moore is healthy.

Moore is a slot defender. A "Nickle" some may say.And a DAMN good one. Hellams will be the Strongside Safety unless he gets beat out.Alabama plays mostly Nickle,or a 4-2-5 base alignment. When they go "Dime" with 6 DBs enter Brian Branch..Or maybe someone else. The competition will be hell back there. You know there are going to be 4-5 "rookies" who are so talented it will be hard to keep them off the field.TIDE fans know who they are. Will be Nice depth, and many of the youngsters will get a chance to rattle some teeth on Special Teams!

Toto will not start day one. I think he would send the wrong message. NOw if he had been here in the spring i would think different.

it wont take him long to work his way in though.

Quick is behind a few guys coming out of spring, Cohen or Brown are much more likely to be in the starting 5 at this point.

Few things to notice:
Javon Baker, Slade Bolden, Agiye Hall and Jameson Williams are competing for spot.
I don't think any positions on WR except for Metchie are locked. I expect them to compete hard.

OL- They rotate lot of OL folks so it is little hard to predict who's starting at this point.

I do think it'll be Neal, Brown, Owens, Ekiyor and a freshmen on RT.

DEFENSE

DE - LaBryan Ray 5*
DT - Tim Smith 5*
DE - DJ Dale 4*

I don't think that will work.
I expect to see Ray and Mathis as DE while NG will be DJ Dale.

To'o To'o is starting along Harris this fall. That's a given.

Secondary will likely be like this:
Hellams and Wright are fighting for FS
Battle and Stroy batting for SS.
Malachi Moore is staying at Star spot.

I do think Marcus Bank will push someone for a CB spot.

I’m willing to grant that Dale might’ve been hurt last year, but the difference when Smith was in the game was glaring.

They were often going in opposite directions post snap haha.

I agree that Hellams and Wright will battle for FS, even though I think Hellams has the edge right now, but in no way is the SS spot even up for debate. Battle has that locked down and is probably going to be our best DB and the leader of our secondary. I think Moore should have the upper hand at Star, but it'll either we're going to be playing dime a lot and having Branch out there or something, because it's going to be hard to justify leaving Branch on the bench much. He was just as good as Moore to me in the playoffs.
