Years of single digit, non-12 double digit numbers at the position and we finally have a big time talent back there with that number that’s starting. Just feels right.

It only tells me that Keelon Russell is the chosen one

When I played HS ball in the 70s-early 80s QBs numbers were 10 to 19. I remember seeing Doug Flutie in No. 22 and how weird that looked.

Is he the first 12 to start since McElroy?

Yes.

McCarron, Sims, Coker, Hurts, Tua, Jones, Young, Milroe and Simpson have all had different numbers from 12. Actually wild when you think about it.

Five Star Elite 11 quarterback, David Cornwell was given the #12 jersey at the start of his Alabama career, but never started a game.

Correct, though Cornwell was a 4 star, number 3 pro style QB out of high school per 247 Sports. He is not close to Keelon in talent.
