Yes he could, but he'll have to get a different mentality. If the rumors are true, then this mentality will ruin him.

I agree, he won't get anywhere by quitting when it gets tough.

Anoma has talent but this really speaks to his family or lack thereof. If my kid is having a tough time with his academics or athletics he or she is not quitting. And, they especially won't leave a proven, all-time great coach to possibly transfer to another program because they don't want to buy-in.

I'm no insider, but there seems to be evidence/chatter that he got into Saban's doghouse via failed drug tests, and didn't want to do what was asked of him after breaking team rules.

I don't have a dog in the fight that's gone on in this thread, but it seems that some have criticized Cecil for not providing more info. Just maybe, Cecil knew all of this but only published what he felt he could publish as a responsible journalist. I would expect Cecil Hurt to know most, if not all, of the chatter that anyone here hears. He's not going to publish anything about failed drug tests. Furthermore, if the university divulged that info, it would likely be a FERPA violation. So I don't get the crap Cecil got from some people about all this.

Honestly, the only reason so much was said about Cecil was because a few here couldn't handle Cecil receiving some mild criticism, thereby forcing a long conversation about it. He was mildly criticized a couple days ago. Then a long convo ensued about the justification of said criticism. It was nothing. Folks are just desperate to talk.

once fall camp starts and there is a report most every day about who is in and who is out and who is looking great and who is looking just mostly ok.... we will all start forming our teams to follow those we think should be starting or getting more playing time... until then it's mostly like the ole ball coach calls it..."talking season"...Roll Tide and talk on with your bad selves

You should go back and read the thread.

It seeems to me Cecil is butthurt that he couldn't get any info on Anoma from UA. Pathetic piece of reporting, iyam. I've never understood why so many people think he's a great reporter. I quit reading his stuff years ago.

You:

My problem with Cecil is his purposeful writing of an incomplete story, knowing full well how it would be taken by many. It was written so as to be a dangling unknown negative and referenced his being in the portal months ago, rather than digging in to the story and publishing the explanation. If I, a non-journalist, can uncover a wealth of info by only using google and 2 minutes of my time, isn't it irresponsible journalistically not to do the same and tell the complete story?

TideWarrior:

There is the problem with Cecil and many of these reporters. They need followers and to do so they need stories with headlines. When the story is incomplete they write it with a negative narrative which nowadays gets more bites. He is no different then some of our fans who see him as a football player and nothing more. As TS mentioned no one cares about what possibly could be going on with this kid and his family and neither does Cecil.

And I stopped at page 6. Probably missed some because I glanced.

You all attacked the messenger and basically anyone who thought there was something to that message. It was you guys who couldn't handle what was going on, not the other way around.

Better Maryland than another SEC team and if a family member is actually terminally ill, then it's reason enough to give the guy a waiver to play this year. There have been waivers for less.

agreed on, better than an sec team. however, with the ncaa tightening the rules for waivers, it may not be a slamdunk

LINK ]Alabama LB Eyabi Anoma enters NCAA transfer portal (al.com)

Eyabi Anoma’s time at Alabama appears to be over. The sophomore outside linebacker entered the NCAA transfer portal on Sunday, according to a source.

Anoma was suspended by the university earlier this summer and this latest development, according to sources, stems from a separate university level issue.

It’s a tough blow for the Crimson Tide. Anoma was rated as the fourth-best overall player in the 2018 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and he appeared to be in position to be a contributor for Alabama this season.

With Terrell Lewis out during the spring, Anoma had worked a lot with the Tide’s first-team defense. While working with the first-team defense, Anoma posted three tackles and a sack during Alabama’s spring game in April.

Post will be updated.

I respectfully disagree with your word choice. Criticizing is not attacking, and for me personally, that is the point. I also went well out of my way to give an even, measured opinion over the course of multiple posts regarding Cecil.

But I no longer care about this stupid, stupid issue.

Also, Anoma is gone, and I bid him adeiu. I, for one, only want to discuss the Crimson Tide and its players. I vote for a new thread to be created about anything, and let's migrate the conversation there.

If he got kicked out of school, and it sounds like he did, he doesn't deserve a waiver.

The NCAA is tightening up on granting waivers. Waivers requested for transfering closer to home due to illness of a family member aren't supposed to be granted unless it's an immediate family member. Anoma's grandfather is seriously ill, not one his parents or siblings.

The NCAA will likely relent if the grandfather raised him. Sadly in many inner city schools you'll encounter more grandparents than parents raising kids.

You were calling peoples mom's whores at one point. Another point it was something along the lines of "melt motherfrickers".

I think you might need meds.

I pray this kid get his act together because there is more to life than just football and I hope that he realize that at some point he has to mature and all of that stuff. Praying for his guidance...
