I was obliged to attend my grandson's football game this morning and was forced to listen to the first half on the radio. Eli was very bad before his illness but now he's reached a new level. He needs to go. Listening to the game with others, we didn't have a damn clue what was going on in the game. Neither did he....

Eli is a legend and will always be appreciated and loved for his radio calls, but unfortunately age catches up to everyone at some point.

I’m hoping this is kind of a send off year, with Eli only doing the home games, and next year turn the reins over full time to Chris Stewart.

You don’t ever want to have to force out a legend, and you always hope they will call their own shot and step down before it goes down hill. But sometimes you probably have to help them make that decision… For instance, Lee Corso is fricking PAINFUL to listen to on College Gameday, and it angers me they continue to put him on tv when it’s been this way for at least 5 years if not longer. It’s not good for anybody.

Eli is just as confused as the rest of us watching this embarrassment of a team.

Lay off the criticism of a legend.

Really? I was listening to the game with my father in law on the way home today and I thought he was doing a good job. My father in law has never really listened to Eli that much but even he commented on how detailed he was being. There were a few times he tried to use “big” words to describe something that didn’t fit but other than that I thought he did good.

He’s been bad at painting the picture of what’s happening for a while, even before he got sick. It’s hard to figure out where Alabama is, how many yards they gained on a play, etc. if you’re listening to Eli.

I had to listen today as well. My biggest complaint was how long it took to find out how many yards a play went for. On one of our long passes, his excitement level made it sound like a 10 yard gain and we only found out when he said, “And Milroe is ready for the snap after the 43 yard pass play”

Give him a little time. He's been through hell.

You can freakin stream most games on YouTube on you cell phone as well.

It happened more than a few times. It happens every play.

That’s fair. I was busy trying to multitask so I couldn’t give it my full attention.

I had to leave for something I was obligated to attend. I listened to the entire 4th quarter on the radio. After listening to the Anti-Eli vaginas on this forum, I was particularly interested in listening to see if I just was missing something everyone else saw (or heard, rather).

Not one time did I ever have a problem knowing what was going on on the field or the details of the game.

It's really not Eli's fault that a few people on this forum are gigantically stupid fricks who can't comprehend spoken language.

Give it a fricking rest or watch the TV or just turn it off, completely. Having listened to the game, today, and having read this post, there's no doubt, you're full of fricking shite.
