He adjusted but kept making the wrong adjustment which their OC easily figured out.

They would just find different ways to hide or align 11 with Hellams.

When we finally started bracketing and move 13 to guard 11, their OC aligned them so Hellams would be shaded to the opposite side of 11 and 13 wasn't focused (and doesn't have the speed to cover 11 anyways).

On my opinion we shouldn't have been so scared of the QB run, and shouldn't have moved our safeties down so much for support. Should have always kept one high and shaded to 11's side and that would have stopped all those deep balls.

Saban sees the same defense that Golding is putting on the field . They stand right beside each other. If adjustments aren’t working Saban is letting it happen. I’m not defending Golding either, but some blame goes to the top.

I hate to be negative... but Golding isn't going anywhere. Bob is as good as gone

I agree. We all know the 1 position Saban has his main focus on in practice.
That's the secondary. Who got embarrassed, seemed completely lost up in Knoxville.
Also, his job as HC to tell BoB on 3rd down, run the ball, center the ball middle of the field for the FG attempt. Not on the frickin right hash.
Terrible clock management as a HC.

Who would hire him?

Would you hire him? I sure as hell wouldn't.

BOB at least has a resume.

All Golding has is an open bottle of Jim Beam in the passenger seat.

And, if I'm being honest I'd let the WR and DL coaches go too.

This isn't being talked about enough, especially Wiggins. Back to back top WR classes and very little to show for it.

Bailed out last year by a transfer. Had to bring in two transfers this year. Haven't seen much development outside of a couple flashes.

Roach, I'm still a little sour on not locking down his guy in-state, at least without needing a bit of additional help. Also not seeing much from the DL outside of Oatis being an absolute freak coming in.

Exactly. I started a thread a few weeks back about Wiggins and I was lambasted. Very few people are mentioning that our WR production has fallen off a cliff since Waddell, Jeudy, Ruggs, and Smith left.

And, I mentioned to a friend of mine that seemingly the best DL we currently have is the true freshman Oatis.

He better, or we sink deeper into mediocrity.

I think Williams and Metchie did pretty well last year. The level of talent is not nearly the same this year. If there is NFL talent at wide receiver this year, it is the freshman. They have popped at times. They need time though. The rest of the guys just are not that good.

I wouldn’t call losing a game mediocrity yet

We have real good defense before Saturday game where everyone on defensive side had a brain fart. One bad game.... c'mon.

Surely you can’t be serious? Our failure on defense is directly attributed to Pete.

Kelly would be a terrible choice. He was awful at FSU.

You think he’s going to leave ND to be our DC but no one wants to work for Saban?

No one is asking any current WR to be Ruggs, Jeudy, Waddell, or Smith. No one! But, our last two WR classes were the last two consecutive #1 WR groups. And, no one from these two groups is beyond a role player at this point? This would be acceptable at another program but not at Alabama. Wiggins is either misevaluating the WRs he's recruiting and/or he's not developing that talent once it gets on campus. Either way Wiggins' job should be in question.

I disagree about Wiggins. He is the reason for our last 2 classes and those are our best WRs. Brooks is a beast but I don’t understand why he is more of a focus. What is killing us is the 2019/20 classes. The only WR from those classes that even plays is Holden and he shouldn’t be. Brooks, Bond, and Prentice are going to be very good. As the season progresses, I believe they will be playing the majority of the snaps.

I forgot to add, I have no defense for Freddie. I wish he would work out but it doesn’t seem like he is.

Half the reason those WRs haven't developed is because last year our idiot staff used a short rotation not getting talent like Jacory Brooks any burn until the Auburn game when we needed anyone to step in.

This year it's more of the same when we see Isaiah Bond and Kobe Prentice make superstar catches and plays then get pulled out for Holden or Burton to have a drop, miss a block/route or jump offside.

Our rotation at WR has sucked for two seasons and that hurts development if you believe it or not.

I know it does but our Freshmen WRs have played significantly more this year than last. Like I said, I expect Bond and Prentice to start taking over starting roles.

Our rotation at WR has always been bad IMO. We will have 7-8 who can play and rotate 4-5 , even when up big

Honestly I think we all can agree Holden and Burton need much less burn.

We need to be bleeding in Kobe and Isaiah so they can grow into themselves for our run later in the season.

Nothing personal to Traeson Holden or Burton but they are playing only due to their seniority. If not for that they wouldn't get in till we had a game done and dusted.

Every week if it isn't a drop, it's an offside, a messed up route.. something. We can take that from freshman, but not from seasoned players who say they want to make it to the league.
