Do you put the program over the coach or coach over the program?

I love Nick. He's the greatest ever and deserves all the praise we could every give him. Some say coach deserves to stay as long as he wants. I'd argue that we should put the program over any one coach. If he doesn't make major coaching changes, then he's part of the problem. Saban is the greatest at managing change.... He's done it multiple times before. The question is... Is he willing to do it at his age? Does he still have that drive? The next season will be interesting for sure.

When the coach has won 5 national titles for you you put the coach over the program. He’s earned the right to go out like Bobby or JoePa(on the field only) if he wants. Any fan who says otherwise is an ungrateful a-hole.

He has earned the right to tarnish his legacy.

At this moment, Saban is not the best coach in the SEC.

It's six. But you never put any single person above the program. That's ridiculously short-sighted. And regarding gratitude, by my count, Saban has made over $200 million in his time at Alabama and had a statue built of him. I would think that's enough gratitude for anyone. It's probably not time to move on yet, but when the day comes Saban needs to step aside gracefully.

Bowden was forced to resign and Paterno was straight up fired. Both could have avoided lots of embarrassment by not holding on way too long.

I don't think so. You can be extremely grateful, but you care about your program long term, as well.

No other coach will ever do what Saban has done for UA. The reality the next coach coming in I hope can put us in the hunt for a NC every 3 years.

At this point anything Saban does for the program is just gravy. Even if he never wins another title at UA I am alright with it because of what he has already done. But I as a fan, which has no real value in the greater scheme of things, am not alright to see the embarrassment of riches we have at talent to completely get squandered by a staff that does not put the players in the best position to succeed on the field.

I feel Saban has a history sometimes to be so stubborn it has cost the program success on the field and it appears to me to be doing the same now with current coaching hires. I would love for Saban to go out on his terms with one NC before he retires but if the only way to clean house with the coaching staff is for him to retire I am alright with that as well.

Again Saban has earned the right stay or leave but I also do not want to see a Bowden situation at UA with him.

No one is bigger than Alabama football

That said, if we have to readjust expectations I can do that. I can take 10 wins most years, challenging for the SEC every other year, challenging for CFP every 4 year.

The only thing that actually frustrates me is how the team looks and right now it's dreadful. We are the team we used to beat the shite out of: arrogant, lazy, unprepared. We need some serious change and Saban has to be willing to acknowledge it

Excellent point... It's not just about win or lose, it's about HOW. Right now, how we look when we lose and win are pretty ugly. At those point in the season, we really look to have regressed from the Texas game. We've gone from clueless to clueless and inept.
