To be fair BOB never put that much effort and creativity with Bama and his last stint with the Patriots. They ran wildcat and other formations he never used while he was here in New England. They also manhandled fsu up front.

BOB was running CNS offense. Now he is running BOB offense.

Plus it’s Boston College. Anything is better than the years since Matt Ryan at BC. They beat a deflated, pieced-together FSU team.

You are correct. I watched people call you crazy for the past three years for your opinion that O’Brien and Rees were subpar. You were right all along.
I soured on Rees after watching Buchner play against USF last year.

Bill O'Brien's big problem was getting a drive started. If he could get one first down, he usually had great rhythm the rest of the series. The problem was his startlingly high number of 3 and out possessions for an offense with a high per-game scoring average.

Tommy Rees's big problem was sustaining a drive. The offense was not very well coached, so they had too many drive-killer mistakes if there wasn't a massive explosive play to put them in the end zone or scoring position.

The fact that Rees convinced CNS to bring Buchner on board and give him a scholarship is crazy in hindsight. The weather conditions weren’t the greatest and we had a lot of issues across the board in that USF game last year, but Buchner looked like he had never played QB past peewee football that day. And then he decided to hang it up to go play lacrosse (probably the best move for all parties)… Of course, not every player ends up being a contributor, but bringing Buchner into the QB room was baffling to me at the time it was first announced and even more so now looking back on it.

Speaking of Buchner, I saw him on the ND sidelines Saturday night signaling in plays. I thought he quit football for Lacrosse.

Which offense was Sark running a year earlier?

Lane and Sark had a lot more latitude.

But a former NFL and Big-10 head coach who also won four AFC South titles didn't?

I'm convinced Tommy Rees and Buchner were both brought on based on the bowl game against South Carolina the previous year and not their body of work as a whole.

I saw an article during the spring saying Freeman let him come back. He’s probably scout team though.

That's good because that young man was short hopping screen passes...he's no thrower
