Hard to say Kaho was to blame without knowing the call. That guy frequently is left unblocked by design if it’s been seen that he is crashing down hard on the run. It may have been a true naked boot.

Easy to say in hindsight. But no one throws it away in that situation.

bullshite. Greg McElroy had explicit instructions to throw it 20 rows up in exactly the same place on exactly the same field in 2009 if he couldn't hit Upchurch.

The fact that you think it's acceptable for Jones to "take a chance" on 1st and goal from the 2, at that point, in that game, only confirms what many suspect...you don't do football very well.

Exactly! That’s QB 101.

I mean Mac screwed up but the guy was all over him right when he turned around. A more experienced player probably chucks it out of the end zone but that was Mac’s first time in that situation and he panicked.

yeah. Which is why I said in the game thread that he can learn from it. He will definitely remember that one.

True but I’m not willing to give a 3rd year player a pass on that play. Like I said a few spots up that’s QB 101. If he was a freshman I might be more inclined to not be worried about it but he’s a redshirt Soph in a Saban offense. Know the down and distance and love to play another down.

Mac is, right now, a better QB than Taulia. Why is that so difficult for some of you guys to accept?

Looks like Bama ran the same play twice earlier. In the 2nd quarter Mac got sacked on the same walk-up blitz of the edge. On the other Mac threw an incompletion.

Either Bama was tipping this play by formation or Barn knew Sark is predictable in the red zone.

Probably because no one truly knows exactly how good Taulia is at this point. We've seen him make NFL caliber throws, and he is more mobile than Mac. Add in his last name, and that entices people. Pretty simple.

We didn’t see enough of Taulia to say that. His mobility would’ve worked wonders against the Auburn D. I trust Saban but he’s shown a tendency to play a more experienced qb over a more talented one a few time. Jalen over Tua, Greg over AJ, and Blake over Coker(I know this ones is not universal)

Say what you want but he had essentially played in two games in his career before that. Some times you need experience to learn.
