2. Taulia has played in 3 games. Had he started at Auburn he would’ve played in the bowl and burned his redshirt.

Taulia's redshirt was burned vs Western Carolina getting him some reps to be better prepared in case Mac got injured vs Auburn.

Mac was a stud vs. Auburn. He made one really bad throw for a pic six, but so did Tua vs Clemson. He carved that Auburn D up for 4 TDs and 515 yards. He led the Bama O to 45 points in JHS, in his first IB start, against one of Auburn’s best defenses in more than 10 years. You do that you should win. He’s not Tua but I’d trust him in a playoff game today.

If Saban doesn't get his thumb out of his butt and start playing better coverages against spread teams that's exactly what will happen.

44 against Clemson
46 against LSU
48 against Auburn

It's not just players or turovers. It opposing coaches knowing exactly what Saban's gameplan is.

How can you say one bad throw when he threw 2 pic sixes?

The second one was not all on him. It was a freak play, typical of the voodoo that seems happen in JHS. He was about to get sacked and the ball hit the receiver’s body and bounced into the arms of a defender. You couldn’t recreate that in 50 tries.

It still would have been a touchdown if he threw it in front of the receiver.

Maybe but he had to throw so early, because Kaho whiffed on the block, that Najee hadn't even turned around yet.

Yes he WAS about to get sacked so he threw the ball at a receiver instead of throwing it away. 3 points or at least an attempt at 3 wouldn't have been a bad decision.

The 2nd pick was WAY worse than the 1st. It was 1st and goal at the 3 yard line. Yes it was a freak play but it happened because he threw and awful pass. He should’ve thrown it out of the back of the end zone or in front of Najee.

aint it beautiful how some of these geniuses love blaming mac and acting like that piss poor defense didn't have anything to do with that loss. especially since not a single one of them could make the throw they claim mac should have made, under the same circumstances.

Even during the Auburn game and after it I was complimenting Jones, though most in the game thread were railing on him. I would note that many of those fans have evidently changed their minds with some time to reflect on it.

That said, the interception wasn't a freak play at all. It was a very bad decision, but one he can learn from. Harris was wide open, with plenty of field but no defenders between him and the endzone sideline.

People think Taulia is something that he isn’t.

He’s not Tua, folks. Not even close.

It’s hilarious seeing people think Taulia is automatically a clone of Tua. Taulia was a 4 star for a reason. He threw for 60% his senior year at Thompson. Had a lot of yardage and TDs, but it’s high school. Down the road, it could end up being like a Peyton and Eli story, but right now, it’s obvious that Mac is the better choice. Not to mention, Bryce Young is going to bump the competition up a notch.

It's like people forgot this happened. Dude started his first real game (sorry ark... not really) away against one of the best defenses we played this year. He had 2 bad throws which happens during this setup for a backup. I am in no way saying Taulia is bad but Mac didn't exactly play bad.

Surely you know that’s not the number of points given up by the defense in two of those games, don’t you?

Or is the defense blamed for pick-6s now too?

Just when I think our posters can’t get dumber they go and prove me wrong.

Sure I do. Just as surely as I know you upvoted your own post

But even a clown would admit my central premise- that Nick Saban's schemes are the reason that the defense has fallen apart and without changes we can only expect the same results- is true

The Auburn game criticism is understandable. But the extremely talented and well schemed offenses are going to put up 35 points pretty routinely on even the best defenses. Ohio State and Clemson are gonna light each other up Saturday

Our schemes aren't the reason our defense is awful.
