Quite! Pool parties with shaved ice rewards will be next.

I wish there was a way to do it for non performance …

If DeBoer had a brain he’d do that during the offseason.

Pretty sure Saban had ice cream trucks at practice some too
I literally never heard that and I followed every detail of the Saban era.

The way forward might be investing in general high level perks. Best housing. Best training facilities, etc., and then get a bunch of 3.5 stars, give them very little NIL, and tell them to work towards an NFL contract. Spend some resources on a great QB, maybe a nose, linebacker and safety.
These guys would be hungrier, less entitled, would wait in line and learn for a few years. Then you have guys you have developed and who have experience.

Wish the "norm" was paying a head coach $1 million a year...buyout if terminated is 2 year's salary...with a bonus of $10 million for a conference championship and $20 million for a national championship.
You know...actually requiring success for multi generational wealth.

The way forward is with the best talent and a staff that holds the talent accountable and has them prepared to execute on Saturdays. Same as always.
NIL has changed none of that. Maybe cussing them like a dog won't resonate but accountability to standards and preparation are not thrown out the window just because the young men have salaries now.
The problem with this staff is they're lazy compared to other real power conference staffs and they don't hold the players accountable. Again, it doesn't have to be red in your face screaming fits but the boundaries and directions are not clear and credible to these kids.

I agree with this. They are lazy. I don’t think DeBoer wants to be here and he seems disinterested. I know Grubb doesn’t want to be here. He got fired by the Seahawks and just needed a job/paycheck. They really don’t give a shite and it shows. This is on Greg Byrne. Terrible contract. We are screwed.

This what I wonder about. Lot of rumors going around about players being undisciplined generally in life. Staying out late. Eating like shite. Ty talking about cleaning up the lunch room and going to class.
Those bad habits, laziness, cutting corners... it carries over to the field. We certainly saw some laziness and effort issues yesterday.
You're always going to have 18-22 year olds that struggle with these things. Saban had his fair share of knuckle heads. But he still held them to consequences when they made mistakes.
Are there any consequences for these guys under DeBoer?
