I honestly feel better about our coaching staff after that loss than I do after some of our wins. They called a good game but it wasn't enough to overcome multiple majorly bone-headed mistakes by our players.

ETA: You are a detriment to one of my alma maters, the UNA Lions. You do us a disservice.

I wonder if Deboer can ever comprehend the level of toughness and aggression its gonna take in the SEC.

Bama under Deboer is 2-0 against the last SEC coach to win championships. Pretty sure he knows what it takes. I’m just wondering which coach you would rather have because Kirby’s not leaving and Kiffin has a terrible all time record against ranked teams. Sark just lost his third game against UGA in a year’s time.

Not taking your bait of diversion tactics. The question is can Deboer coach well enough for the SEC to be successful.

The answer is, yes he can. For frick's sake, we're 6-1 in conference and favorites to make the SECCG with one conference game left to play. Some of y'all Chicken Littles need to settle the frick down.

Last time I checked winning is all that matters. Saban had to rely on 2 blocked kicks against Tennessee to beat them. Had to rely on Ingram to carry the team to a win against USCe. Had to come from behind to beat Auburn at Auburn. All in 09 which ended in a NC.

IS DeBoer perfect? Absolutely not. Are there things he and the staff can improve on? Absolutely. There are changes I would like to see in the offseason

But let’s not act like there’s another Nick Saban out there we can bring in. And with the talent dispersion in CFB thanks to the portal and NIL, everyone might as well get used to close games.

Coaching scared I don't see that. Guy is hyper aggressive.. maybe too aggressive. He plays to win to a fault

You know, this doesn't bother me one bit. I hate when we miss (aka. wildcat - straight into a pile) but overall, I'm glad.

Saban was mostly *conservative, and it almost always worked out for us [showing a better, nuanced understanding of the game].

But I'm glad when Deboer and his staff takes measured chances, especially today - in a league with more parity than I can remember in decades.

Let's not forget, these challenges helped prompt the goat to realize it was time to retire. Those challenges did note evaporate with Sabans' retirement.

---------------------------------
*exceptions of course, [e.g. onside kick on at the National Championship against Clemson, Shite-eating grin ensues] prove the rule.
