You act like this is the same committee as every other year. THIS committee has Oregon ahead of us and we haven't budged from #8 no matter how good we've looked or how bad Texas has looked.
Yes, we might get in, even if all the higher ranked teams win out. But, it's going to depend on if the committee jumps us over a one-loss, conference champion who beat us at our place. In, the "no upsets" scenario, that's going to be the deciding factor. There's no way we're jumping FSU in that scenario.
That said, UTex and FSU very well might drop a game. I think we have a great shot, but the odds go way down if there's no upsets. Still not impossible, but THIS committee has shown no special reverence for the SEC, and it's hard to blame them too much based on the shitty out of conference record this year.

Bama needs to put away auburn early and keep the pedal down the entire game. Then in the SECCG Bama again will need a convincing win to make it in to the top 4.
If Bama does this they will be ranked the highest 1 loss team due to:
1- how they have improved from game 3 to game 12.
2-No one has played as well as Bama during that span.
3-Bama will have beaten the top ranked team with the longest winning streak.
4-Bama SOS will be better than any of the 1 loss teams.
5-This season will be the best coaching job by Coach Saban and staff since his arrival to Tuscaloosa.
Jmo..biased of course.

@ClintRLamb
The SEC is getting a lot of love in the Coaches and AP Polls except for one spot.
Top undefeated? Georgia
Top one-loss? *Not* Alabama
Top two-loss? Missouri
Top three-loss? LSU
Top four-loss? Tennessee

1 loss Alabama will not be over Texas.

I’m convinced that this he only way we get in is if we beat UGA down by multiple scores.

I didn’t think this till now, but seeing Washington move to #4 in the AP after that pathetic showing shows there’s a real effort to protect both Washington and Oregon’s position over Bama and Texas. Washington is not a top 4 team.
Wins over AU and GA should be enough, but it’s looking like we need to throttle auburn and beat georgia soundly.
It’s amazing how the Cfp comm switches criteria from one year to the next to serve their purpose, suddenly none of them want to acknowledge strength of schedule.

Take a good look at who’s on the committee this year and where they come from, then you’ll know exactly why they’re ignoring SOS.

Newsflash, pal: the CFP committee doesn't love Alabama as much as you do, or the rest of us.

We would easily get picked over an undefeated FSU WITH Travis talk much now he is injured.

Even though the backup would have beaten Florida and then Louisville in the ACC Championship Game??? Lol. I want some of what you're drinking.

FSU just lost their QB for the season. FSU is going to struggle to win out at this point and would not be surprised if Louisville beats them. Also will not be surprised if the committee views FSU as not top 4 when all is said and done without their starting QB.
Then you clearly don't understand how this works.
You do realize, don't you, that the backup QB would have led them to a win over Florida and an ACC championship iwn.
To suggest that the committee will leave out an undefeated FSU because their starting QB is out...even though the backup would have led them to two wins, including a conference championship game... isn't an even remotely intelligent thought.

They will not put us in over an undefeated FSU, especially when they played 2 P5 OOC teams. There is no argument for putting us in over them.
I think they would without their QB. The committee will need to ask the question would FSU be undefeated and a top 4 team now without him and the question would be no.
What are you even talking about? Would they be undefeated without the starting QB???? That question is irrelevant today. If they win out against Florida and then in the ACC Championship, it will be with the backup QB running the show.

This is why I think if we beat UGA we could jump FSU even if they win out.
You can think it all you want...that doesn't make it an intelligent thought.

Someone needs to lose for us to be safe. I think the easiest route is Oregon as we will have every possible metric over them although the committee could screw us.
But any loss by FSU, Texas and we are absolutely in.
We have the hardest path in all of CF and it’s through UGA. That’s the tallest task of all.

Florida State has to travel to Gainesville Saturday night.
Maybe Sunbelt Billy can pull off the upset with Travis injured.
I doubt it, but it's possible.

FSU isn’t the same team and there’s a good chance of a surprise loss to Florida, or an even more probable loss to Louisville. That’s one spot open.
Michigan or Ohio State will be out. That’s one spot open.
Oregon or Washington will be out. That’s one spot open.
If we beat UGA, that’s another spot open.
It’ll be, IMO:
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama
If it’s Alabama/Texas in the ship and we get to avenge our loss, I’ll be convinced God is an Alabama fan.

We beat Georgia and we're in.
Sankey and Co. would bully the frick out of the committee and ESPN would be backing them up.
