Means more people think Bama is going to make the playoffs

Thanks. I figured that it was like in terms of a betting spread in the games. We were -10 against the barn.

Prior to the move, a $100 bet would have returned $100 in winnings. Now you have to bet $186 to win $100 since that outcome is now more likely according to the book.

In spread terms, Bama has gone from a pick em to -4.

I should have put in a better Sunday evening when all the dummies were still talking about Miami still making it or SC jumping two teams that beat them

I put in a bet Saturday Morning. Glad I did. It was +250 I think.

Based on right now SMU winning puts Alabama in. If Clemson wins does the committee treat SMU like Miami? The only other games that could affect Alabama getting in are Georgia losing handily to Texas or UNLV beating Boise State. The odds moving on Alabama making the play offs indicates the bookmakers believe there is more involved than SMU beating Clemson. I think Clemson beats SMU and Alabama ends up in the Citrus Bowl. I would like to see Alabama in the play offs to see how the team reacts. Losing to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma does not inspire confidence.

Here's a good look at the numbers/rankings for @AlabamaFTBL. Recognize there’s lots of chatter out there about 2 vs. 3 loss teams, however that is just one factor. When you look at the @CFBPlayoff Principles for its Selection Committee, the first bullet point on the list of considerations is strength of schedule. Not all schedules and conferences are created equal.

We’ve worked diligently to add more challenging non-conference home-and-homes, which is good for college football, not to mention the week-in and week-out of the SEC and it being the toughest in the country.

Talked to him Saturday about this. No not kidding. I shared my thoughts and concerns and he mirrors the same with Clemson/SMU. Look, having a chance to go is huge for our team and our school. Who knows what we do with it. We are a super loaded team, we can go far if we clean up some areas.

We just have to wait and see on this point, we simply don’t know what they will do with SMU.

I'm battling with +800 for Miami to make the cfp. The committee could easily keep them ahead of us tomorrow which means we have no shot.

With the way it’s shifted since Sunday I don’t know if I would be them. Just my opinion.

I made bets on the teams I thought for sure would get in about a month ago. I looked Saturday morning and said screw it. Won’t matter in 10 years.

Yes it is. You specifically said cupcake OOC games would help the SEC and the fact is SMU having a more difficult OOC schedule that those SEC teams they’re up against is the only thing giving them a shot.

If you swapped Bama’s OOC opponents and record with SMU’s Bama would be in a much better place. Just as in hoops, cupcake OOC hurts rather than helps.
