There have been some bad drops. The receivers have to do a better job with this. But good lord...Coker throws SO many 5 yard laser beams 5 feet in front of or behind these guys. The offense would be in a MUCH better position to keep moving the chains if he could make these simple arse throws. Those passes HAVE to connect. He can't even hit a guy 5 yards away who is sitting down between zone defense. These were automatic last year. It's an extension of the run for Kiffin's offense, an Coker can barely carry out the throws. I've watched the YouTube video of all the plays from the Ole Miss game a few times now, and it's mind blowing how bad he is.
I'll add that they snag some very poorly thrown passes for him. He makes them work so hard.

I think that the drops criticism is kind of overblown.
They caught the ball fine in the other 3 games. They had an off-game against LaMo. Doesn't worry me.

Yeah I don't expect it to be a consistent problem, it was just annoying because while Coker didn't look amazing or anything, he did make some very nice throws that were dropped.

The throw to Chris Black was perfect.

Coker has a rocket arm with very poor control. He reminds me of me when they wanted me to pitch in high school because I had a strong arm and could throw a curve but I had poor control, so I turned down pitching because I was afraid I was gonna bean a lot of folks.
And Bateman is the king of throwing it to a guy who is two yards short of the first down marker on 3rd down. Though some blame has to go to receivers because you're never supposed to run a route short of the marker on 3rd of 4th down.

Both of these guys need to step up their game. Now. Jake doesn't even have to get us in the right play. And he still can't get rid of the ball on time.

Me neither. Coker is a poor mans JPW. The thing that will lose us games this year however is an average running game. 250 yards on the ground would go a long way toward a successful offense. Doubt we'll see it.

That's my only problem with "run more". When we try to run not much tends to happen. Sometimes we look like Alabama, but other teams Henry looks like a 140lb back and the OL looks like a JV team. When Henry can get rolling though he's unstoppable.

Henry was absolutely abusing Ole Miss in the 4th. They were obviously tired, but if Alabama can run like that, they'll be in any game they play this year.

This is why he has been such a disappointment as far as production and game reps. He is a great guy off the field but his hands are terrible in games. Stewart will be ok but we need to stop acting like he is a #1 WR. He is not that...

I am happy this happened.
But I'm sad it's so uncommon that it's news.

The Alabama Offensive S&P rating increases over the course of a game.
LINK
1st Quarter: 27th overall
2nd: 22nd overall
3rd: 13th overall
4th: 5th overall
However, our defense seems to be slipping a little in the 4th, I'm guessing this is mostly due to putting in 2nd string in 75% of our games thus far as the defense actually did pretty well against Ole Miss in the 4th I thought.
Defense:
1st: 5th overall
2nd: 1st overall
3rd: 9th overall
4th: 18th overall

That's a stat that has to change or Pruitt will just bring the house every play.
