Losing Huff would suck. He's as good a position coach/recruiter as there is in America.

Can't blame him for taking a head coaching job at a solid mid-major, though.

Why though? They aren't hiring a big-time coordinator at Marshall.

I'm suggesting they go after a big-time coordinator, but you would think that they'd want someone that has at least run an offense or a defense...run something.

It’s weird that Clemson didn’t go through this.
I guess a combination of loyalty and comfort.

Venebles can't steal signs while he is busy head coaching.

Clemson is so much better than most of the teams in the ACC it doesn't matter but Brown and UNC might be able to change that.

This was the one position coach I was most concerned about. Really love this hire.

It may be legal, but ethical is another question. I can’t imagine Saban ever going down that road. Honestly, I would lose a little respect if we did. Maybe that’s just me though. We can’t win by lining up and diagnosing the play. We have to “steal” the signs.

Good read. I wonder why college doesn’t do communications to helmet like NFL . It gets cut off 15 seconds .... something like that

I have no clue but I'm assuming money. I'm guessing for some group of five and lower subdivision schools that would be a pretty penny.

I wish Huff well but, considering the circumstances, I think expectations will be high there. A lot of fans and players were pissed when Doc Holliday was let go; especially considering he led the Herd to conference runners-up this season in addition to winning Conference USA Coach of the Year honors...

Agree - they have high standards and Doc maintained those.

From Horns247:
quote:

Here’s where things stand with Sarkisian’s staff as best we can tell at the moment:

Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach - Kyle Flood

Tight ends coach/Special teams coordinator - Jeff Banks

Quarterbacks coach - AJ Milwee

Running backs coach - Stan Drayton

Receivers coach - Andre Coleman

Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach - Pete Golding (leading candidate at this moment, per our sources)

Defensive line coach - Bo Davis

Outside linebackers - Tosh Lupoi/Oscar Giles/Other

Safeties coach - Blake Gideon

Cornerbacks coach - Terry Joseph

Is Lupoi a done deal? If so, and Golding goes as well, that’ll be 7 former coaches from Saban’s staff...should make the games with Texas in ‘22 and ‘23 very interesting...

Strong start.

Ou, LSU, and aTm may be getting a little concerned over their typical TX talent markets... and he has strong West coast tie ins there.

Not really.

It is pretty obvious that Saban is shutting down the machine at Bama for the good of CFB, which starts with dismantling the staff and then taking the UTx Ath Director position. When he gave Sark pre-halftime credit (by name) for a good gameplan, it became clear that he was handing the keys to CFB domination to his favorite coordinator.

Decent staff, but will they have the dudes in place by 22. We have the dudes, but other than Saban who will be coaching them. Should be an interesting game.
