Has anyone broken this guys film down?

I saw some dual threat stuff but not enough variety of throws to make any intelligent comparisons, but his numbers are insane.

I’ve been big on him for years. Here are my thoughts.

He is a tall and long prototypical sized passer. He has a very quick release and accurate. Gets the ball down the field well.

His arm angle isn’t ideal as he releases the ball at a lower angle than most…but you can get away with that if you’re 6’5”(see Phillip Rivers).

Pocket passer first but has mobility

Plays at a very low level of LA high school football but has also showed out at camps. He’s been the consensus top QB for a few years and that’s more to do with his camp performance than steamrolling outmatched smaller schools.

This will help attract some playmaking talent.

I agree with loaded I’m not sure anyone can space this many elite guys though.

Mack RS JR
Keelon RS FR
Kaawa FR
Thomalla FR
Seaborn 2027
Haven 2027

Some guys are gonna get pinched who end up starting elsewhere but it’s a good problem to be navigating.

This was a concern I had watching the limited stuff I’d seen because he was running past private school white kids who looked like smurfs compared to him, but the skillset and size was obvious. Dude looked like Cam Newton moving around out there.

Glad to hear he’s been delivering at the camps.

Russell starts next 2 years. Mack transfers out after this year.

Haven and Thomalla compete to start after that. Kaawa is a bit of a development project(Kaawa also kind of a personal favorite of mine outside of football. Not based off of his playing but I had a chance to meet him and he’s a top tier young man).

Seaborn is perfect to bring in a be a Ty type because he loves Alabama. He’ll come in and compete and push and wait his turn within reason.

Was actually flying back from a trip to Hawaii and he was boarding the same flight I was on with a Bama tag on his bag.

Didn’t know who he was at the time but looked him up and based on his visits that’s who it ended up being. Given how it worked out with Tua and how good Taulia ended up at Maryland people shouldn’t sleep on a Hawaii QB who gets an offer from KD.

The same thing was said about Derrick Herny coming out of HS.

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't think he's a truly fantastic athlete. He's mobile, but not like Cam or anything. I think his arm talent is what makes him special.

Honestly, it will take care of itself.

Either Russell or Mack will be gone at the end of the season. My guess is Mack tries to find a place where he start one year as a RS SR.

I'd also suspect that one of the true freshmen will transfer out.

By the time we get to the 2027 season, we'll have 4 scholarship QBs again.

Oh absolutely, I didnt mean it as a negative.

Other than that brief moment in time when we had Mac/Tua/Jalen with Bryce Young headed to campus which is arguably the best QB room of all time I've never felt better about the talent we have stacked and that we wont have to be one of these teams chasing overpaid overrated portal QBs for $10M just to run our offense.

Again, true.

Haven looks like Cam Newton in his highlight film.

I think he could end up being an absolute monster it was just that the film was leaning heavily into him running rather than throwing so I look forward to seeing what he can become under a coach who has proven to be elite with regard to QB identification and development.

I could see this. Russell in 26 and 27...Haven in 28 and 29...and then a senior, experienced Seaborn gets his shot in 2030.

Maybe Thomalla develops into a starter...God forbid injuries factor in...but on paper it looks very good going forward. Mack is gone after this year for sure. Thomalla is kind of the wildcard in the future.

Eh, Derrick Henry was such a physical freak even in high school. He was so huge and fast that it wouldn’t have mattered what kind of competition he faced.

Haven looks really good but I’m not sure any player is as big of freak athlete as DH. DH was/is a once a generation player.

Same high school as Derrick Stingley

Same competition level in LA that all the Mannings faced.

I actually think Arch is a decent comp for him. He's a little bit bigger than Arch but they appear to have similar running ability and similar unorthodox mechanics. Haven is a more accurate passer than Arch was at the same stage though.

This is what I immediately see when watching him. Once you get past the strange throwing motion he's just putting ball after ball right on the money, and from what I've found his team has had 1 D1 WR recruit while he has been there and that guy signed with South Alabama. So he's not out there slinging it around to a bunch of kids who are open by 5+ yards and picking up YAC in chunks. Even if you completely disregard his production as a runner because he's a vastly superior athlete to most of the other guys on the field his passing numbers are still pretty legit.

Arch: 140/229, 2270, 61%, 206YPG, 34 TD/2INT, 130.3 RTG

Elijah: 240/332, 3931yards, 72%, 280YPG, 62TD/7INT, 142.5RTG

62TDs in a season is insane and if those stats are from the same league it seems reasonable to think Haven might be ahead of where Arch was as a passer coming out of school.

Damn seen online that Indiana may get Sales. NIL fricking up everything when we can't get a kid nicknamed Bama.

That would be a blow, he would be a great replacement for RCW leaving next year but NIL is what it is and they have Mark Cuban cutting checks right now so I get it.
