He proved you correct at Miami. He has been awful!!

That was the biggest problem with Locks. We really don’t know how good or bad he would be at OC because he was only here a year.

I guess, but it is still a weird turn. None of it is really relevant to Dippre but this isn't about whether anyone likes Gattis or Locksley or O'Brien for that matter. It is who is the best WR coach we had which is probably Gattis, but who knows. Locks was the WR coach for 2017 (had coached WR once before in 1996) before moving on to play caller and Gattis had the most productive WR core the next year and left. I am just saying some of y'all like politicians at debates just taking any subject and turning it into some random Bama football thing y'all obsessed with .

We just want to debate our favorite subject and we don’t want to start a new thread, it’s easier to do it in a well established one.

Yes, he was smart arse.

I merely asked a simple question because I didn't recall Locks coaching WRs at Bama.

Since Dippre is a TE (not a WR), I haz another simple question: Does Locks help coach TEs as a side job at Maryland, like Saban does with DBs at Bama?

Oh I get that. Good conversation is good convo, no worries. It is just funny when y'all take a topic that barely has anything to do with that subject and attempt to twist it into that thing you are itching to make a point about. It is a little much when some people try to do it in multiple threads on a subject we all see you are clearly obsessed with and it is like dude if it means that much to you start a new thread .

Locks coached WRs for 1 year. This dude has one of those “I’m fricking smarter than everyone on the Internet” attitudes so just take everything he says as fact with a huge grain of salt.

Same guy that said future top 3 pick Bryce Young has a “noodle arm”.

Locks was solid, but in his Broyles year he was playing with one of the most loaded offensive teams in CFB history and got absolutely skulldragged in the championship.

Yep. RPOs all day every day. It nearly cost us against UGA that year and Clemson kicked our teeth in.

@TidalSurge1, And Locks was known for recruiting great WRs at Maryland and Illinois. Locks is in my opinion the best WR coach in college football in the last 10-20 years. Check his resume (before and after leaving Bama as it relates to WRs)

You will see Bryce will go first round but he won't be top 5.

He is currently projected to go number 1 overall. I do think he will drop down draft boards after the combine due to his height.

Height, weight and arm strength will drop Bryce. I think another year in school with a more inventive OC would help Bryce.

Locks is the head coach and receivers are his forte. Locks was also OC/TE coach at Illinois and he was TE coach at Army. So, I'm sure Locks was influential in Dippre's recruitment. I can swear some of y'all think that some coaches that have passed through here don't know shite but recruiting. It's really disturbing.

Locks shite the ultimate bed against Clemson in the 2018 championship game.

You can suck his dick all you want, but he disappeared when we needed him most.

As for him being our best WR coach, sure. It's easy when your pupils are the best in the country. He didn't do shite. They caught what they were thrown. He didn't teach them how to block. They only ran routes. That's not special.

Wasn’t just Clemson. Alabama’s red zone numbers that year were mediocre. That issue showed up big time versus Clemson. They were elite outside of that but once they got in the RZ they dropped off significantly efficiency wise. One of the reasons being Locks playcalling in the red zone was not good. He’s not as bad BoB but wasn’t a great play caller either.

Well, it's good to see that everyone's full of the Christmas spirit here in this thread. ;)

Cobra, it is good to hear from you. I hope you're getting some more sleep these days.

This is a terrible take.

Locks didn't shite the bed. Tua did. Just like he did yesterday with Miami.

Tua is fantastic as a talent but between the ears he wasn't the smartest and that made it easier to stop him once you realized.

Locks literally couldn't make us do anything too complex because our QB needed the simplicity.

Clemson did us in so easily because they realized how easily they could trick Tua by just shifting their coverage after the snap.
