Call me crazy, but I’d rather underrated 3-4 stars that stay at the University and develop into football players vs a bunch of 5 stars that transfer out after a season for a higher bidder.

Just look at ND, most of that roster was 3 and 2 stars.

Lol. They were the 9th most talented team in the country last year with one five star, fifty-seven four stars , and twenty-four three star recruits.
Some of yall are kidding yourselves if you think you can build a playoff caliber team with the type of players we've had commit the last few days.
That being said I have no problem taking on lower rated guys if the staff thinks more highly of them. As long as for every Rihyael Kelley and Javari Barnett we sign we also land guys like Ezavier Crowell and Jireh Edwards.

Going to be hard to keep up with recruiting now that it’s just a matter of may the largest wallet win. Maybe our guys will figure out the best “moneyball” approach and get lucky on some diamonds in the rough.

I had an offer from DSU as well and even though it was a better program I just couldn’t go to the Delta

I just look at their offer sheet and not so much stars… Finch had good offers

I think the plan will be to identify the higher rated guys who aren't simply bag chasing early and put the full court on em. And then fill out the class with guys who you evaluate as higher than their current ranking. But you have to get a core of elite guys if you want to compete for championships. And I say that because the hit rate on 3 star guys is just so drastically lower than a 5 or even 4 star recruit.

The key is to find highly rated guys that aren't driven by NIL, but development for the next level.

Oh yea. Got nice facilities now . Old Frierson Field was good for at least one black eye a week for an infielder

If this was March I wouldn’t be concerned but having such a small class going into July seems not ideal

We'll have five more commitments in less than 10 days.
ETA: Apparently we're only signing 19-21 players in this class.

Looks like BYU is gonna steal 5-star QB Ryder Lyons out from under Oregon.
He's Mormon and taking a year long mission trip once he graduates.
