Rivals Rankings Week: Ten 2027 prospects that could earn a fifth star

quote:

12. RB Ezavier Crowell (Jackson, AL)

Five-star running banks are becoming a rarity but if there’s one in this class, it might be Crowell. The prolific runner (1,737 yards and 25 touchdowns last season) out of Alabama has the skill set of a potential five-star. He has great burst once he gets the ball in his hands, sees running lanes well and is a very powerful runner.

Crowell has posted a 10.73 100m time this spring and that solid speed has shown up on the gridiron.

51. DE Jabarrius Garror (Prichard, AL)

Garror is already a well-known prospect in this class thanks to his early commitment to Alabama but college football fans will come to know him for his ability on the field very quickly. The 6-foot-2, 200-plus pound defensive end might be the twitchiest pass rusher in this class.

As a freshman, he posted eight and a half sacks and he’ll likely beat that total this year. Garror shows great burst at the snap, balance as he works off the edge and impressive hand techniques to keep offensive linemen from slowing him down.

Garror isn’t a massive or overly long defensive prospect, but his speed and skill set make him one of the most intriguing in the class.

20. QB Gunner Rivers (Fairhope, AL)

There are a number of quarterbacks in this class who are under five-star consideration, but Rivers is one who will continue to come up throughout the ranking cycle during these discussions. The Alabama native and son of longtime NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has had an excellent start to his sophomore season, already throwing for more than 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns while completing almost 68 percent of his passes.

The competition Rivers faces on a weekly basis isn’t incredible, but he is playing some solid teams with a few prospects on either side of the ball. His quick release, arm strength and ability to quickly read the defense and throw to the open receiver have all stood out thus far in the evaluation process.

Jabarrius?
That’s an Auburn lock.

There isn’t a WR in this class I’d trade for Brooks. Not Dakorien Moore, not Cunningham, nobody. Brooks is a Jaylen Waddle regen. He’s got that dog in him and he’s an explosive athlete that attacks the football

I just watched the freshman video of Gunner Rivers on YouTube, and he really is like a perfect clone of his dad. Same lanky size, same arm, same athletic "ability". Threw for 3000 yards that year.

Will DeBoer be interested in a pure pocket QB? That's what Penix was, pretty much.

We offered a 2026 DL from Tupelo, MS, yesterday:

JaReylan's stock has plummeted on the recruiting rankings sites since the beginning of the year. Wonder why he's dropping so much.

Hey brotha, can you re-pin the hoops thread since it’s been renamed recruiting?

This kid is so underrated, I really think he is top two or three wr's in the class. I think he will play early and will be a difference maker day one.

I hope he's more Waddle than Christian Leary and Jojo Earle.

Hope that we can keep Caleb Cunningham in the fold. Hate that he is visiting other teams.

Has anyone heard any Jamie Ffrench and Bama scuttlebutt lately? Someone mentioned it on another site. Just checking to see if it's being mentioned anywhere.
