I agree on most Rolexes, but I have and love the classic Sub. Black face. My go to watch. Also have the man on the moon, but rarely wear. Have taken to wearing a luminox on the weekends. Love the always visible light technology.
Have always wanted a patek or audemars, but can’t rationalize the expense. And no dealers in Birmingham. And I certainly can’t rationalize the expense without at least seeing it on my

I have 3 watches, only one I bought myself and I never wear them. The sub I bought from the Pearl Harbor Navy exchange in 93 for 2900.00. The Pam I traded an Emerson CQC 6 knife for and the Daytona my wife got me for an anniversary gift.

My problem here though are the ones I really want go for way to much including one I saw well into 7 figures as well as many of the Jaeger-LeCoultre like Hybris Mechanica.

Currently my collection even though small includes:
Oris Big Crown ProPilot X Calibre 115
Longines Spirit
IWC Spitfire
TAG Carrera Auto Chrono
TAG Aquaracer(gift from wife)
Brequet 3817

Hoping to find a Brequet Traditional 7097 preowned or Roger Dubois Excaliber but still may more than I want to spend this upcoming year.

How do you like the Panerai. I almost
Pulled the trigger on one, but didn’t. My jobs dress is formal and I did t think I could pull it off with a suit. And couldn’t rationalize the expense for casual/weekends. So I went with a couple of lummoxes with nato straps.

Luckily for me my job the majority of the time does not require more formal attire unless I am presenting a workshop or speaking. With the exception of the one TAG I lean towards the leather straps now, except the Oris is rubber on the model I have which I really like.

Like my wife who just came into my office and said do not even think about buying another watch anytime soon as she saw the pics on the screen.

Nice collection. I almost got to that level, but I realized I wore my sub 99% of the time and streamlined to the sub, man on the moon and luminoxes.
Only thing I’m missing is a good leather strap watch. I have a victorinox field with a brown leather strap, but want to upgrade.
Edit. Lol on the wife. I have the opposite problem. My wife likes to buy me watches for gifts since she knows how much I like them,
But I never like what she buys. Last one was an aquaracer. She thought I would love it. What she didn’t know was the aquaracer was my first ever luxury watch. Wore it for a few years, then gave it to my younger brother when I got the sub.

I spend so much time outside with the kids now doing outdoor stuff I usually only wear my Garmin Fenix because it will take a beating. But I try and find time to wear one of the others.

I like it a lot because the dude I traded the knife to for it gave me 20 extra straps, some Pam some knockoffs so you can change the look quite easily. Probably not as high quality as others in the same price range but it's a cool watch for sure.

For leather options Longines is not too bad on the wallet. IWC as well like the Spitfire. But I would definitely recommend the Breguet if want to step it up.
But that LP that was posted looks really nice.

Nice. I like being able to change straps. If I ever upgrade my leather strap watch (currently victorinox) will prol be a Pan. I have a thick wrist and think the Pan style matches.
Ps. My last post on watches. Back to recruiting.
Roll Tide, go to hell auburn.
