From what I’ve read and heard his course work will not be completed by this early signing period therefore he can’t sign or enroll early. According to the NCAA rules he can announce a reclassification but he can’t sign until his course work is completed which is why he’s waiting until February and signing on his birthday.

They're claiming they knew this was what he wanted to do all through the summer. That's not what was reported. It was basically "he might or he might not".

If I'm paying for recruiting intel I don't want flip flopping or "hints". Just let us know. I get they have to respect wishes to keep getting intel but what does that do for me? I respect those guys but if you can't deliver the intel whatever the reason is then I'm not paying. Just the way it is.

They'll be just fine without me and my money. No big deal. Most ppl who pay for those sites do it just so they can post on a message board. I'd rather post here since it's free.

Haven't paid for recruiting info in years. I think as the years have gone and commitments have meant less and less I've kind of just gotten tired of recruiting. I hardly follow it until it's close to signing day now. I think your assessment is correct.

This would make sense as certain requirements have to be met to to sign a NLI for a scholarship. Including a number of core classes that need to be completed. With him graduating early probably needs to complete out this semester to meet those requirements.

I saw that on3 updated the recruiting rankings to include Ryan Williams in the '24 class. He is ranked the #4 best WR, 3 spots behind Cam Coleman

Unless it's a QB, it's unlikely they would ever move a reclassified player at another position much higher than that, as he'll be a year behind in physical development. However, I would probably make an exception with certain WRs, as it's less physical than most other positions. Also, considering how much of a freak athlete Williams is with special instincts, he should probably still be a top 5 guy in the older class.

If he wants to start, he needs to hit the gym. You aren't starting at 165lbs in the SEC.

That being said, he has plenty of time to physically develop. If he can learn the playbook, he has the type of talent that I could see starting as a true freshman.

It isn't unheard of, Devonta was 170 when he graduated and that probably wasn't legit. The question is, is he THAT good. If he comes to Bama I sure hope so.

Yea that's not how any of that works. Do you actually think every kid signing early has completed all their courses work? That all changed some time ago. He is free to sign early if he wishes. He is not so he can take official visits.

Yep, and I honestly believe the kid just wants to enjoy his official visits. But if you talked to any AU fan... RW being committed to Bama means we are screwed

Coach Saban has been logging a lot of miles on the recruiting trail. Today he’s in the San Diego area visiting with
5-Star quarterback Julian Sayin and his family.

College Football, currently, is one of the only sports with no salary caps, spending limits, etc... all professional sports have this, and college should too.

No they don’t. Plus, the school themselves are not paying the players so you can’t limit how much someone pays. I don’t understand why people get so mad about these kids making life changing money.

You can limit it. It’s been done in the past, when the limit was $0.

That’s not to say these kids didn’t get hand-outs, and cars… but we shouldn’t be bidding on high school kids to come play on our college teams

And the Supreme Court ended that.

I’m not bidding on anything but I don’t see a problem with these making money. I hope they get every penny they can before people mess it up for them.

That’s true but I don’t care how much they get if boosters are willing to pay it.

You aren’t bidding on anything, correct. Schools / Booster are bidding on kids. It is slowly ruining college football in my opinion
