Southeast Spotlight: Commitment predictions for top prospects

The top-ranked uncommitted recruit in the Southeast could have a busy fall ahead, with programs like LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon and South Carolina jockeying for in-season visits. The final summer trip he took, though, was an official visit to Alabama that "set the standard,” and the Crimson Tide have been in consideration for a return trip during the season as well. Miami and Florida are also still in the mix for the IMG Academy star, so there could be plenty of twists and turns left. Ahead of the trips, however, the ball appears to remain in Alabama’s court.

This one has been billed as a potential Iron Bowl battle for some time, and with Auburn edging Alabama at the linebacker position to date, Shaw could present a counter for Nick Saban's 2024 class. The two schools have each hosted him a handful of times, and Shaw did take out-of-state official visits to Notre Dame and Arkansas, and now Clemson jumped into the mix with a late July scholarship offer during his latest trip to Death Valley. Yeah. Bone has answered questions on Shaw a few times. Alabama has not really pursued him.
Now Quinton Reese is another matter. Alabama seems to be really interested.

Reese is EASILY (by far and away... it's not even close) the best LB in Alabama this year. He's one of the most dominant HS players in the country. It's just a question about projecting him (versus Riddick and others) to the next level. If he were three inches taller, he'd be a 5* top 10 overall recruit. The question is how much the size will hamper his abilities in college.

I just saw that Justin Okoronkwo will be at the game on Saturday (flying in from Germany).
I think this is going to be his first time seeing a college football game in person? Going to be a hell of an experience for him!

Through three games, Alabama tight end pledge Caleb Odom continues to make his case as one of the biggest mismatches in the 2024 cycle. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder has impressed in each outing and has been the most-physically gifted prospect on the field each week, while playing in games with multiple Power 5 prospects.
Odom had one of the more impressive individual plays I’ve seen this season on Friday. With his team facing a 3rd and 29, he ran an in-breaking route, catching the ball with a defender on his back. Odom then spun out of that initial tackle without going down, spun again while gathering his footing and shedding more tackles before dragging himself into the end zone with a defender grabbing his ankle. The play was a sensational and rare display of coordination, contact balance and effort, particularly for a prospect of his size.
The Carrollton (Ga.) High standout has a bunch going for him as a prospect. He’s highly productive on Friday nights and is well on pace to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards and 10+ touchdowns for the second straight season. He also has plus length and multi-sport athleticism, with perhaps the best dunk reel in the 2024 cycle. Odom currently ranks as the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 2 tight end in the On300. We’ve been higher than the industry on Odom for the entirety of the cycle, but he’s continued to ascend. There’s naturally less room for upward mobility in the rankings when you’re ranked as high as he is, but through three weeks it’s safe to say Odom is challenging Georgia commit Jaden Reddell (No. 22) as On3’s TE1.

His face, combined with that comment, is dumb.
