ArticleFINAL PUSH FOR FIVE-STAR CLAY WEBB (12/3/18 10:00 AM EST)
Talked to a couple sources last night and this morning regarding Oxford (Ala.) High five-star center Clay Webb.
Around the Clemson program, the feel still seems to be them or Georgia (as of Sunday evening). The Tigers sent a couple assistant coaches in on Friday. Everyone else I talk to, feels this is an Alabama-Georgia battle (including talking to folks Monday morning).
I'm now buying into the latter after nearly buying Clemson during the fall.
Webb visited each of those three programs multiple times this fall including the Crimson Tide three times with the Iron Bowl being his last college visit to date. Several family members joined him in Tuscaloosa as well. Webb also made it over to Athens for two Georgia games and over to Clemson for two of their games.
One source Monday morning said he'd be shocked if it was Clemson, and another confirmed that and said Crimson Tide or Bulldogs. I do think if Webb shows up on a college campus this weekend that's the school he's most likely going to.
A decision for Webb is expected next Monday. My Crystal Ball remains on the Bulldogs where Webb has family around Athens but I don't believe a final decision has been made at this point. Head coaches are going in-home this week for the final crack.
The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks the 6-foot-3, 295-pound Webb as the nation's No. 1 center, No. 1 recruit in the state of Alabama and No. 19 prospect overall.

McMonday McNuggets:
Sanders, Neal, Sopsher - Driver's seat.
Webb - After Saban's visit he's still not telling anyone where he's going or leaning.
Kirby in-home tonight. Committing on Dec 10.
Bowles & Dalcourt - Staff loves them; keepers.
Ty Robinson - Loved Bama visit and staff likes him a lot, but it's doubtful there'll be room.
Dean and To'oto'o - Both takes and in good spot with both.
Thibs - Some sauces say Bama trending, others say he may be misleading to build drama.
Carter - ATM very nervous, Bama OV Dec 7th.
Battle - Family likes Bama, kid likes Urban Liar but wonders if he's leaving or staying.

Wished you could find out how Sanders and Neal would play out if Locks leaves.

It won't impact their decisions. We're good.

Note: Saban going in-home Tuesday, Dec-4.

Talked to two sources on Friday around the Oregon program regarding five-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, the nation's No. 2 recruit per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
One of those sources still felt good about the Ducks chances, and said Alabama would be Oregon's biggest competition down the stretch. Another source felt like Thibodeaux would ultimately go to Alabama.
A source around Thibodeaux recently told 247Sports the official visit to Oregon the weekend of Oct. 13 was the Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian's best one to date. He took his officials to Alabama and Florida State in September.
Thibodeaux has long had a decision date locked in for Dec. 15. 247Sports insider Greg Biggins had a story this week regarding the blue-chipper's in-home visits with college coaches.
I have not bailed yet on a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast made in favor of Alabama back in the summer after spending time with Thibodeaux at the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-American Academy. With that being said, there have been waves in this recruitment including Florida State having momentum and then Oregon. Although my pick remains on the Tide, I'm certainly not disregarding or sleeping on the Ducks here.
Note: Saban going in-home Tuesday, Dec-4.

Early signing period is Dec19-21. (RT66 beat me)
ETA: Ika's OV to Bama is Dec 14th. It's looking like he'll end up at Bama or Oregon. Assuming the staff is confident enough they'll get Sophser and all of our DL commits, I'm a bit doubtful we'll have room to take him. He wants to sign early.

Really hoping we can land Thibs and Sopsher. Two 5 stars on the DL would be excellent, especially if it is going along with three 5 stars on the OL.

Kamaar Bell just got 4 CBs to Auburn -- from main AU mod, both main UF mods and Hank. Florida appeared to be leading, but just looking at those 4 CBs (without doing any deeper digging) it looks like AU is now.

When Saban is in Baton Rouge it's like the Pope is here. No sarcasm.
