what kind of roi are you expecting to see? Should I roll my 401k over into tattoos?

How does that happen?

You can get your child tattooed at 14 years old. In fact, I know a person who did just that. For their oldest daughter's 14th birthday. She's 16 now and has multiple pieces.

They are some messed up people, though.

I like tattoos and wouldn't mind getting some one day, I just have commitment issues. I like the trash polka look

From talking with a few sources, one team to watch closely here is Stanford. Dean has visited LSU, Alabama and Georgia, so those are SEC programs to watch. But Dean is a high-academic guy who is intrigued by what the Cardinal have to offer.

I really hate David Shaw. He’s a prick.

Alabama looking to reload at defensive back once again after tremendous 2018 haul

Brendan Gant committed to Bama in December.
quote:

Alabama wrapped up its 2018 recruiting class with 19 signees, which was the seventh-ranked class in the country and second-best in the SEC, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Full attention now turns to the 2019 class. Over the next two weeks, SEC Country will look at each position group for the Class of 2019.

Here is a look at defensive backs.

The breakdown: There are a lot of questions surrounding this group. Alabama lost Anthony Averett, Tony Brown, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ronnie Harrison, Hootie Jones and Levi Wallace. Who will step up this season? I think Saivion Smith will be one of the starting cornerbacks. Diggs was once a starter but Wallace took his spot last season. Perhaps Diggs gets it back.

Carter is the favorite to play star. Thompson will likely be one of the starting safeties and one of McKinney or Wright will play alongside him. I can see Surtain and Jobe playing early, as well.

As for the 2019 class, Alabama has two defensive backs committed, though both Turnage and Gant. Both aren’t locked in to their commitment.

Stingley told SEC Country last week that LSU led. Steele may take an official visit to Alabama this spring.

Williams will likely end up in Alabama’s class. McCollough is a major target who has visited Tuscaloosa numerous times. I think he ends up committing to Bama. Pola-Gates named the Tide as his leader after his first visit last month.

Alabama recruiting question of the day: Potential spring commitments for Tide

Paul Tyson is one of Alabama's top QB targets.

Alabama finished 7th in the recruiting rankings in the 2018 class, but expect the Crimson Tide to be back on top in 2019. SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner will answer the Recruiting Question of the Day each weekday. You can ask him your questions on  Twitter or Facebook. Who is Alabama expecting to commit this Spring? - Good Day @johns3rdson

Alabama never expects any player to commit to the team. It’s on the recruit to make that decision on his own. Does the staff encourage players to commit when it wants the recruit to do so? Absolutely. But it’s recruiting and commitments sometimes can be unexpected.

I think there are several recruits who could commit to the Tide in the coming months. Here are a few who may choose Alabama:

4-star cornerback  Christian Williams
4-star Jack linebacker  Ani Izuchukwu
4-star quarterback  Paul Tyson
2020 inside linebacker Jackson Bratton

Christian Williams, an in-state prospect, has been to Tuscaloosa numerous times in the last year. Alabama holds an edge in Williams’ recruitment, according to a source close to him.

Ani Izuchukwu likely will choose Alabama or Ohio State. He has been to Tuscaloosa numerous times since arriving in America from Nigeria in 2015. Because Alabama is closer to his host family and mentors in Murfreesboro, Tenn., I think that makes the Tide the most logical choice.

Paul Tyson is the great-grandson of Bear Bryant. I know he wants to visit other schools, but I have a hard time believing he’s going to choose a school other than Alabama.

I can see Jackson Bratton being the leader of the 2020 class. He grew up an Alabama fan and has dreamed about playing for the Tide.

Tide commit Gant details latest in recruitment (BamaOnLine-VIP)

4-star safety Brendan Gant 6-2/185 (FL) hudl

Brendan Gant says he still feels good about his commitment, but he is still listening some to other teams. He was at UGA and GA Tech Friday with some of his 7v7 teammates. They'll be at Miami next Friday and may also visit UF and FSU. Ohio St. hasn't let up on him since he committed.

Gant talks to Coach Locksley, (primary recruiter) every week. He already likes Coach Scott a lot too. They're quickly building a close relationship. Gant has been recruiting 2019 TE Keon Zipperer and 2020 RB Demarkcus Bowman to Bama and will visit Bama again for A-Day.

Saban is the GOAT but Bear will always be #1 in my heart (I wasn’t alive to watch his teams but grew up under his legacy).

When Saban wins another title with Bear’s great grandson at QB I believe I could smile at the reaper.

I was a kid during the 60s and attended Bama in the mid 70s. I met with Coach Bryant when I was in HS. He offered for me to walk-on, said I'd have to "earn" a Bama scholly the hard way. I had a few full ride offers and committed to Vandy, but had a career ending neck injury my senior year of HS. I love Coach Bryant, Coach Stallings and Coach Saban too. I was so pissed when Bama screwed up the chance to get Bobby Bowden. It was his dream job. That great run he had at FSU probably would've been even greater at Bama.

The 1st and 2nd posts in this thread now have a "new and improved" format. Copies are posted below. Much easier to read and use now. You can see the old harder-to-read format style by clicking on the 2018 Signing Class link below.
