Wild conspiracy theory:

Lupoi is taking the Colorado job. He is the primary recruiter for To'oto'o and a huge reason he is considering Bama.

Pete Golding will replace Lupoi as DC. Golding is the primary recruiter for Christian Harris, who was always Bama's IF they wanted him.

Both seemingly were behind Dean in the pecking order, To'oto'o being Lupoi's "guy" and Harris being Golding's "guy".

Bama finally pushes for Harris and flips him...

To’oto’o has only taken one official thus far and isn’t announcing until NSD.

Taking Harris now is the safe move but also possibly the right move.

If Dean doesn’t pick us in a few weeks, put the full court press on To’oto’o.

I fully support taking Harris now instead of watching To'oto'o inevitably stay out West.

LINK ]BREAKING: Alabama flips Texas A&M LB commit (BamaOnLine)

quote:

Just three days after returning home from his official visit to Alabama, 4-star inside linebacker LINK ]Christian Harris has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to the Crimson Tide.

(Twitter announcement)

A one-time heavy Alabama lean, the Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab product opted for the Aggies when he made his initial commitment back in the summer.

Despite the decision, Harris' camp maintained that they would eventually take an official visit to Tuscaloosa, which ultimately came this past weekend for the Iron Bowl.

Inside linebacker is a major position of need for Alabama in the 2019 cycle and Harris was prioritized early on coming out of Junior Day last winter.

“I like the atmosphere,” Harris said earlier this year of Alabama. “I like how they’re literally good at everything. They’re so powerful. Nick Saban is just so powerful. Having him as a head coach really helps you beyond football in life. They really care about academics, which is a big thing.”

The Tide has been strong in the state of Louisiana in recent cycles, and in LSU's backyard in particular when it comes to linebackers. The Tide added Baton Rouge natives Dylan Moses and Christopher Allen in the 2017 cycle.

"They have everything I'm looking for in a school," Harris said when the Tide offered. "Which is a great academic program with academic support, great coaches who are willing to push you to your best potential, and a head coach who doesn't just care about football, but cares about your life and your future.

"I know if I got there, they can help me with fulfilling my dream which is to play in the NFL. They have the best program in college football for that."

At 6-foot-1.5, 239 pounds, Harris is rated the No. 9 inside linebacker and the No. 145 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Bayou State native is commitment No. 22 for the Tide's No. 1-ranked class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

This story will be updated.

Note: He plans to sign early, enroll in summer.

One of you more skilled trolls need to start a "Hey Ags, tell me about Jeffrey Carter" thread on the recruiting board. They are a little bent about Harris so it might be a perfect chance to rile them up

How do we feel about this kid's cell phone charge game? . Welcome aboard Mr. Harris

By the way a better conspiracy theory would be Sospher is visiting so this is a message to Jimbo to not get cute. CNS gets who he wants. .

So far I've seen no indication that we're any less likely to land To'oto'o. Harris projects as an ILB, but To'oto'o has potential to play both inside and outside.

Sidenote: I've been wondering lately if Bama might be able to take 1-2 more players (30-31 total). I'm not 100% certain that Jordan Davis actually signed an NLI or that Layne Hatcher is on a football scholarship.

Hank: "I don't think it'll have any effect on Dean whatsoever. Alabama is in good standing there and I don't think this changes that. Same could possibly be said about Henry To'oto'o, not quite sure yet on that one though. Edit: No effect on To'oto'o either."

ETA: Tim echoed what Hank said above. He said Golding did a great job recruiting Harris and also met with Dean tonight -- we good. And Lupoi is all over To'oto'o like stink on a monkey.

I'd love to get Jeffery Carter. He good, real good.

A&M is very thin at ILB. I think they may go after Vols commit Lakia Henry (#1 Juco ILB) hard now and have a pretty good chance of flipping him.

I don't think Lupoi is even calling plays. I think Golding is calling the plays.

Ya, Harris is very athletic and could possibly play a few different positions, so we'll see how it plays out.
Having quality versatility is always an asset.
Also, stealing a highly regarded recruit from a divisional opponent should always count for a little bit more too.
Great flip! RTR.
