Really hope we can get a foot in the door with Xmus Jaxon Flaxon-Waxon in the 2020 class. He’s a real difference maker

Meh...stupid reason to waiver, but I think we offered his brother D'Squarius Green Jr recently. A 2021 DB recruit, so we may be still in the running for his services....can you imagine landing those 2 in a package deal!!

I did something similar to this after a big recruiting weekend this summer and someone ripped into me then believing it was real. I find it harder and harder to exagerrate to the point where everyone can clearly see the sarcasm.

It is interesting cause I can be pretty sarcastic in real life. I'm finding when I state basic confirmable facts people are the most skeptical and when I say things that I consider to be obvious fabrications/exaggerations people will undoubtedly take it at face value. Meeting new people in social settings is always an adventure for me.

LINK ]Alabama offers 2020 in-state D-lineman
(BOL | embedded highlights video)

quote:

Alabama extended an early offer to 2020 defensive tackle LINK ]Jah-Marien Latham on Saturday, the Reform (Ala.) Pickens County announced on Twitter.

"It feels good to have the offer," Latham told BamaOnLine. "I have been waiting on this one for the longest time, so just getting the text saying that I had been offered sent chills across my body."

Latham took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa last Saturday for the Crimson Tide's win over Mississippi State. The local defensive lineman caught up with 247Sports' John Garcia Jr. earlier this week and talked about his interest in the Tide.

"I'm right down the road, about 30 minutes," the 6-foot-3, 270-pounder said of Alabama. "I talked to coach (Mike) Locksley some but we had to go. I really like it over there and it's close to home.I follow Da'Ron Payne and Raekwon Davis closely.

"I think how physical I am on the defensive line, how I use my hands and my get-off off the line," he told Garcia of why schools are interested on defense. "Just being physical on offense. My coach always tells me I have a good kick-slide, so that's probably what they look at, too."

"On the D-line, you can be as physical as you want to be. I can do whatever I want to do. I like to be physical, kind of mean. I like the interior." Other programs that are in the mix early include South Carolina and UAB.

Latham plays for former Alabama tight end Michael Williams at Pickens County. The Tornadoes are getting set to play Spring Garden in the state quarterfinals next week.

The 2020 class looks set to be another very strong year in the state of Alabama like we've seen in the 2019 cycle. The Tide has already taken advantage of that landing early commitments from the state's top-ranked player in 4-star defensive tackle Jayson Jones, 4-star inside linebacker Jackson Bratton, 4-star receiver Dazalin Worsham and 4-star cornerback Malachi Moore.

Depending on how things shake out, Alabama could fill a solid chunk of its defensive line needs all just over an hour from campus. Along with Jones and potentially Latham, Alabama looks to be in strong position for Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) defensive tackle Eric Taylor at this juncture.

Other top in-state 2020 prospects Bama is in the mix for include 4-star running back Roydell Williams, 4-star athlete Kristian Story, 4-star wide receiver and LSU commit Kris Abrams-Draine, 4-star quarterback Robby Ashford, and 4-star outside linebacker and Auburn commit Quandarrius Robinson, to name a few.

Expect a majority of the state's top recruits to make their way back to Tuscaloosa next weekend as the Tide gets set to host Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

The Tide's 2020 class currently ranks No. 3 in the nation, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings, right behind Miami and Ohio state at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Their defense is pretty good. We'll beat them but the scoreline depends on which Tua shows up.

First half Citadel we win like last year; 24-6.

Second half Citadel we win treat Clemson like Mizzou.

I don't know about that. I could see their defense giving us fits the way State's did if we frick up blitz pickups and Locksley insists on calling a bunch of vertical pass plays again. Their offense doesn't scare me that much though. Their OL is mediocre and Lawrence doesn't like contact. If they can't run the ball they'll be in trouble if we can tee off on him a few times.

First half Citadel, you're saying we'd beat Clemson by 18???? Do you plan on Clemson turning it over 7 times? That being said, we wouldn't play like 1st half Citadel in a big game, so it's a moot point.
