LINK ]LB Henry To'oto'o presented All-American Bowl jersey (247Sports | embedded video)
quote:
The All-American Bowl Selection Tour made its way to Concord (Calif.) De La Salle earlier today to present Top247 linebacker Henry To'oto'o with his jersey to play in this year’s game.
A three-year starter at De La Salle, one of the most storied prep football programs in national history, To'oto'o and teammate Isaiah Foskey were presented their jerseys today for the January 2019 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
"It was crazy at the ceremony and just a real blessing," said To'oto'o. "Just to have everyone come down and celebrate it altogether at the school, having our family come down and celebrate it, it was pretty nice."
Getting to play with Foskey for another game is an added bonus. "It is going to be pretty cool, just going down there with Foskey, going down and doing what what do and compete and use that against other All-Americans," said To'oto'o.
De La Salle has had players invited to San Antonio before, most recently, and the East Bay alone has one of its biggest groups playing in recent memory.
"This group going down, it feels good to be a part of the Bay Area and to be a part of Northern California, just showing every one what football is about up here," said To'oto'o.
And for To'oto'o, it is a dream come true. "When I was younger, my dad had me sit down and watch the Army Bowl and now to sit down today and get the jersey to play in it myself, it is amazing and it's a dream basically," said To'oto'o.

On the recruiting front, To'oto'o has named a top five of Alabama, California, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington.
So far, only Washington has received an official visit from To'oto'o.
"I went up for the BYU game for my official and I loved it up there," said To'oto'o. "It was fun, just being down there with all the coaches and players. I was with my boy Tuli (Letuligasenoa), he was my host and it was like old times."
The next visit for To'oto'o will be determined when the playoffs sort themselves out.
"There is nothing set up right now because of our playoff schedule," said To'oto'o. "If everything is done by the 14th, then I may take a visit or two in December, but otherwise, I'll wait until after the state bowl games are done."
Which would push the visits into January, where To'oto'o would try to schedule them after he returns from San Antonio and when he goes to Hawaii for the Polynesian Bowl.

To'oto'o said Alabama, Oregon and Tennessee will all be getting official visits and Cal is likely to get an unofficial visit.
"I know I'm talking with Alabama about when we'll do the visit and we're trying to work on that," said To'oto'o. "I talk primarily with Tosh (Lupoi) and then Coach (Pete) Golding and when Coach (Nick) Saban is available, to him too.
"My relationship with Tosh is really good. We're able to talk about his days at De La Salle, about when he was here and then we talk about recruiting. I've really gotten a good relationship with him. And then I talked with (Bay Area native) Najee Harris when I was down there too."
Another former Spartan is also who he talks with but at Tennessee- former Vol and DLS linebacker Kevin Simon, who is an admin at Tennessee.
"I talk to Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt a lot but then I also talk with Kevin Simon quite a bit since he's from De La Salle too and then Coach (Brian) Niedermeyer and Coach (Kevin) Sherrer," said To'oto'o.
"We're working on setting up a visit there too. Kevin Simon went there too after De La Salle so I learn a lot about them from him."

Oregon will also be in line for a trip from To'oto'o.
"I talk mostly with Coach Joe (Salave'a) and then every time I get on the phone with one of the Oregon coaches, I talk with Coach (Mario) Cristobal," said To'oto'o. "Me and Coach Cristobal have some good conversations too."
To'oto'o said he's not making a decision, nor does he plan to sign, until the traditional National Signing Day in February and schools haven't tried to push him in to a decision.
"I'm announcing on Signing Day in February," said To'oto'o. "I need to take the rest of my official visits. Everyone is playing cool about it and they want me to be comfortable about it and make the decision that benefits me best, so I won't announce until I'm ready."
With a bye this weekend, De La Salle and To'oto'o will take on the winner of Brentwood (Calif.) Liberty and Concord (Calif.) Clayton Valley next weekend in the CIF-NCS Open Division Championship game.
A four-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, To'oto'o is ranked as the No. 2 outside linebacker nationally and the No. 4 overall player in the state of California.

Interesting UCLA not a finalist . Might bode well for Bama

Hopefully, they still have tickets. I need to get an extra ticket for my 2 y.o. so she can sit in our laps. Or buy 3 tickets and sell/trade my 2 so we can sit together.

UCLA's new HC Winnie the Pooh isn't off to a good start there, on the field or in recruiting.
Henry To'oto'o plays for a great program and against very good competition. They're not keen on their players taking visits during the season, especially across the country.
Almost everything I've seen since To'oto'o visited in the summer has indicated that our chances of landing him are good.

Saint, Go to the game Sat. and you will be able to get all you want for $10 each. 11 AM kick and Citadel will get you all the tickets you want. There will be at least 20,000 empty seats.

I'm considering it, but my issue with that is making sure our tickets are together. We want to take the kids so we need 5. You think I could get that many together relatively cheap?

5 together might be tough from a scalper. There's a ton in the lower level EE for sale. I'd probably just do that for $18.
There are 3 in the north end zone for $6, if you want to send the kids off by themselves.

I tried buying all of those lower level ones last night. Once you get to the checkout screen it tells you they are unavailable.

I've come to the conclusion that Stubhub is running a fricking scam.
I have set price alerts to notify me when tickets become available at a certain price.
Well at 8:01 this morning I get a notification that tickets have been added in my range. I got to their app and there are NINE different Lower Level sections with up to 8 tickets available. I tried purchasing every single one of them in less than 3 minutes and they were not available anymore. Of course, Stubhub says "here are other tickets available" that are three times what I want to pay.
Now here's the kicker. All of those "available" tickets I mentioned above were the exact same seat numbers, just on different rows. Seats 11-13. How is that even possible?
Even so, I tried calling Stubhub to book them over the phone in case it was just an app and website problem. Guess what? Same fricking thing. The rep actually tried to tell me the seller must be deleting the selections because they sold them on another site. Really, bitch? Some dickhead in rural Alabama posted these tickets on Stubhub at 8:01, had someone buy them somewhere else in 2 minutes and had time to delete them on your site by 8:04?
No. fricking. Way.
Oh yeah, the number of total tickets available on their website NEVER changes with the "new" tickets.
fricking scam.

Inside Alabama commit Antonio Alfano's five-star rise
quote:
By now, Alabama fans as well as high-school football fans in New Jersey are aware of the rise of Antonio Alfano to five-star status in the 247Sports rankings. Alfano soared from the No. 45 player in the country to No. 8 after a beyond impressive regular season with Woodbridge (N.J.) Colonia High.
But what went into the jump? Stats speak for themselves. Alfano amassed 76 tackles, including 28 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, 17 quarterback hurries, 6 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, a blocked field goal and three pass breakups all in nine games. To go along with that, Alfano made major impact on offense tallying 46 pancake blocks. But there is more to it than numbers.
“I had a friend who watched his film, and an opinion I trust,” said 247Sports national analyst Charles Power on The 247Sports Recruiting Podcast. “He made the comment that Alfano looks like an NFL player playing against high-school players. That’s what it looks like when you put his highlight tape on. In terms of the defensive lineman, he stacks up. … He has a very unique profile for a guy that can play defensive end, defensive tackle, hyper athletic, big, very aggressive as a player, too. He put everything together based off of watching his junior film and going into senior stuff. He made that jump. He’s extremely disruptive. He’s a bull in a china shop.”
Alfano’s rise in the rankings is similar to that of LSU cornerback commit Derek Stingley, who jumped to No. 2 nationally based on athleticism and frame.
“Alfano is a guy that is very similar to Stingley,” Power said. “He is an athletic freak. It’s not hyperbole to call him that. He’s 6-foot-4, 275. He ran a 4.82 40-yard dash, a 4.2 shuttle, he has a 37-inch vertical. Very similar to Stingley, that kind of athleticism transfers over to the field.”
Alfano committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide and coach Nick Saban in the spring after he transferred to Colonia. The East Coast standout has been the definition of “committed” since joining the class last May. Alfano shut down his recruitment and will only visit Tuscaloosa before signing and enrolling early.
“I’ve been hearing from a few other people like Georgia and Auburn, all Alabama’s rivals and stuff,” Alfano said earlier this season. “I’ve kindly told them I’d appreciate if they could take me off the distribution list as I’m already committed. Respectfully they did and I think they understand that I’m not choosing any other school besides Alabama.”
Alfano helps to join New Jersey-raised names like Minkah Fitzpatrick and Anthony Averett as success stories in Tuscaloosa. Fitzpatrick, out of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep, and Averett, out of Woodbury (N.J.), both turned their Alabama careers into NFL Draft picks this year.
