That would be much better than the Barn. If we don't have a shot, I hope he goes to Miami. Although that would be a bit of a minor head scratcher too.
I’m right there with you on all of that. Miami has to be selling the AJ Green/focal point of the offense angle. OU will be selling how often they throw the ball.
Huge loss for us, and pretty much guarantees the #1 class for y’all if we can’t get him back in the fold.

Everyone not named UGA believed he was flippable. I personally didn't actually think it would happen just due to UGA seemingly getting everything right on the recruiting trail recently but turns out their confidence was misplaced
Still could end up with Dawgs tho. Honestly, I would be on a plane to Norman immediately but instead he's looking hard at the impressive passing offenses of AU & MIA

Metchie doesn't look like he would project well to being a top WR on the next level.
To be honest, I think he is more of a safety.

Noa-polas mom could probably kick FGs for Bama. We should match the ASU offer.

I don't know what the five years thing means, I'm assuming what he means by his mom is that Gilbert is really close to Tempe, so his mom can visit him all the time (or even make a short move to be in town with him?).

Q: How many guys do you expect Bama to add before the early signing period?
Hank: Not sure on an exact number, but I believe Alabama's class will be very close to capacity by Dec. 19 with the exception of guys like Noa Pola-Gates, Darnell Wright, Ishmael Sopsher, and possibly Henry To'oto'o, taking their recruitments into January and February.

I saw Bentley play once this season and he didn't really stand out. I don't think I'm being a homer her to question how he is ranked above either of the QBs. I could have caught a bad game? Not that he was bad, but he didn't flash the way other top defensive guys I have watched in the past did.

The next huge recruit? SEC teams set sights on in-state RB averaging 20 yards per carry
quote:
North Jackson's Lee Witherspoon saw the ball deflect off a Scottsboro receiver's fingertips. He reached for the ball and pawed it with one hand.
From that point, the play was essentially over, even though Witherspoon still had 65 yards to cover. Blessed with blazing speed and superb agility, he made the highlight-reel Pick 6 in last week's 56-3 victory look almost effortless.
"That was really a 'wow' play," 13th-year North Jackson coach Mark Rose said. "It was unbelievable.
"He does that about every other play," Rose added of the 6-foot, 185-pound senior's exploits.
The veteran coach isn't exaggerating. Witherspoon is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. He is averaging 20.2 yards per carry and has totaled 1,121 yards and 19 touchdowns. Witherspoon has also returned two punts and a kickoff for scores.
With video-game numbers like those, it was only a matter of time before a Power Five program took notice. Mississippi State became the first major offer for Witherspoon last week. He'll visit Starkville on Saturday for the Auburn game. He previously had FBS offers from Troy, UAB, Middle Tennessee State and Arkansas State.
Mississippi State special teams coordinator Joey Jones has handled Witherspoon's recruitment. Jones and Rose have a coach-recruiter relationship that goes back to when Rose was at Smiths Station and Jones was the head coach at South Alabama.
Tennessee has also shown interest in Witherspoon, Rose said. Two of Rose's former Auburn teammates - Charles Kelly and Tracy Rocker - are on the Volunteers' staff.
"There's no telling where this thing could go," Rose said, "because he's doing things that have never been done, numbers-wise."

Speed thrills
Whether Witherspoon plays offense or defense at the next level remains to be seen. He said that colleges have talked to him equally about both sides. He was selected for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic as an athlete.
Witherspoon said that he prefers running back, which is a new position; he played defensive back and wide receiver last season at Parker in Birmingham.
"I see the field better when I get the ball," Witherspoon said. "I can use my speed."
Speed is perhaps' Witherspoon's greatest asset - Rose said that he clocked a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at a Chattanooga camp. Witherspoon finished second in the Class 4A 100-meter dash at the state meet last spring with a time of 10.85 seconds. He placed third in the 200 with a 22.19.
"I took him to a bunch of camps during the summer and he was offered as a corner because he really had very little film from last year," Rose said. "He never played running back. I think he could play either side; he's a lockdown corner. Despite not having played running back, he seems to see it better every week."
Witherspoon set a North Jackson record with 359 yards rushing in a 49-7 win over previously unbeaten St. John Paul II on Sept. 21. The name of the player who previously held the record? Lee Witherspoon. He had set the mark a week prior, going for 334 yards against DAR. Prior to Witherspoon's outbursts, the record was 309 by Kansas signee Octavius Matthews in 2014.
Rose has coached several Division-I caliber backs at North Jackson. He said that possibly the closest comparison to Witherspoon was Ali Sharrief, a 4.4 speedster who went on to play at Alabama.
"Lee is about as fast as anybody I've ever coached," Rose said. "He's as good as any them."

A whole new world
Witherspoon arrived at North Jackson in Stevenson for the spring semester after his dad got a construction job working on the Google data center in nearby Bridgeport, according to Rose.
The move from Birmingham to a town of about 2,000 took some adjusting.
"It's slower paced, but I've gotten used to it," Witherspoon said.
Witherspoon first got to know some of his future football teammates when he joined the track team.
"They treated me like family when I got here," Witherspoon said. "Everything we did was hard work and fun. We laugh and joke, but when it comes to business, we get to it."
Added Rose: "We've got a great group of seniors that paid a price in the program and he kind of jumped in there with them. That workout was a little rough on him to start with, but he never backed up and never complained and had a great attitude. Immediately, our kids gravitated toward him. He's got a great work ethic and is extremely humble. He doesn't say much, but when he speaks, they listen. He's kind of become one of our leaders."
Witherspoon praised his offensive line and he singled out the performance of Jody Moore, a junior guard who leads the way on counter plays. North Jackson lost only one starter up front from last season.
"They know," Rose said, "that if they can stay down on their block for a split second and give him any daylight at all, he's fixing to take it to the house."
Witherspoon's eye-popping statistics come despite the fact that he shares the load in a run-centric offense. Class 4A, No. 7-ranked North Jackson (5-0) averages 354.3 yards on the ground, with running back Korre Smith (347 yards, seven touchdowns) and quarterback Tanner Woodall (336 yards, six TDs) as the other primary ball carriers.
What's the ceiling for the North Jackson backfield?
"I don't know," Witherspoon said, "but it's getting better every day."

I get the mom part, but I don't understand the rest. What does "offering 5 years" mean? Are they telling him they already plan to redshirt him?
