Kayvon and Nakobe have to be having second thoughts on that FSU move.

We at worst will provide them stability. FSU? Not so much.

I agree, but the team has to show something. Nobody wants to sign up for getting the shite kicked out of them for 3 to 4 years no matter how much they play.

It’s why schools like Rutgers, Kansas, Oregon St., Vanderbilt and the aforementioned Syracuse have so few five stars despite being in a great conference and offering ample playing time.

Here's Tua after the game. I'm not too sure that it's cramps. I think he might have pulled something.

Cam Akers got to be regretting that decision.

I wonder where he watched the title game at last year while Najee was getting championship carries.

I know Saban doesn't negative recruit, but I really hope someone involved with these guys, and really any other elite recruit considering FSU, points out to them that among their many issues FSU may have the worst OL in FBS football. An OL that bad cannot be fixed in a year or two the way a bad pass rush or bad WR corps can. Linemen generally take time to develop, and of the 5 or 6 they end up signing they'll be lucky if 2 are ready to play as true freshmen or RS freshmen/true sophomores. FSU is not going to be a relevant team again for a while. Any kid who signs with them this year is as likely to go through a coaching change as go to a bowl game.

I've said it before amd I will say it again, natural boob guy can't help themselves, they always say something. .

The biggest issue with Thibs and to a lesser extent Dean, in my opinion, is that the FSU O line and O line recruitment is so bad neither will be going against NFL/elite talent in practice. That is really going to hurt their development. They still have a shot at a few guys this year but it is still pretty weak. If we close out our Oline recruiting strong they are probably practicing against the most talented Oline roster in college football history next year.

You ask me that as if it changes anything. Kids go to other schools because of playing time every year. So he went to FSU because he wanted to play early id say it has worked out pretty well for him.

If #65 is the best backup guard Nick has then our backup OL is in trouble. He was terrible.

I missed the deal on Cotton as to why he wasn't playing.

Dude it was his first time ever playing. Lester Cotton got his shite pushed in on the regular when he first started playing. I have faith that a kid who came in at 400 pounds and dropped all that weight will work to fix it.

Cotton is still getting destroyed on the OL. He is clearly the weak point, Saban looking for someone else there.

When Womack comes back, put him at left guard.

This is wild overexaggeration. My goodness, we're spoiled.

He, like almost every other OL in the country not named Jonah Williams (and even maybe him once in a blue moon) gets beat every now and then. But he's improved a good bit. It's always been mental with Cotton. He's nasty as a run blocker when he gets his hands on them.

Ok guys I made it back to north myrtle and there's little damage however just 100 miles north the damage was worse. All areas around me are flooding bad. I barely made it back in time because of the flooding. Epic win last night. Our D really showed up after that first bad deep ball. Surtain is a difference maker with his length

Cotton is a senior, the mental part should be down by now. I see him get beat time and time again game after game for his entire career. He has already been benched before.

As for the mental part stuff, I'll be nice when I say this. He will probably never get that down enough to be a really good OL (though he'll probably make an NFL roster... at least on the practice squad) at the next level. He's better than you give him credit for this year, though. Before this year, he was VERY up and down. Would occasionally just maul in the running game, but look lost on blitzes. So far this year, I've not noticed too much bad from him.

The "want to" light really came on for him this Spring. He supposedly worked like a dog all offseason. I hope he has a big year and gets paid to play the game and support his child.

But yeah... if he has struggles, we have some capable guys pushing him to take his place. And I guess they could move Womack inside. Hopefully he gets it done in his 5th year senior season, though.

LINK ]Antonio Alfano ready to dedicate self to Alabama (BamaOnLine-VIP)

quote:

Alabama DL commit Antonio Alfano is having a 5-star caliber season three games into his schedule... 27 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, three QB hurries and a forced fumble. Oh, and Alfano has added 10 pancake blocks playing along the offensive line... "I’m just excited with the way they play and the way they coach. I’m just ready to get there and dedicate everything I have for them for the next three to four years..."
