All jokes aside he wasn't a public visitor to Miami or FSU either. He definitely could have other things going on, but it seems like he keeps his visits on the down low. Was Pickens suppose to be at Auburn or FSU before visiting Bama tomorrow? FSU is reporting that he is at their event tonight.

Yes. Pickens was at AU Thu night and most of Fri, then went to FSU.

Isaiah Hazel, Wide Receiver form Maryland committed to West Virginia. A lot of commits (mostly 3 stars so far) coming off the board this weekend, as was to be expected.

BOL: Christian Harris is still on his visit. His mother says it's going great.

Who would you rather have Mahamoud Diabate or C Harris? Diabate seems like heck of an athlete and it appears he would come here if pursued. Is C Harris really better than him?

I don't think they are contingent upon each other. Diabate probably gets the green light if Thibodeaux goes elsewhere.

Diabate projects well at all LB positions, but he needs S&C (too thin) and is a little raw. Harris is about ready to roll physically as a protypical ILB and is also very fast and athletic. He mainly just needs to be coached up to play ILB in Bama's defense. Since Cowan got booted, another ILB who can contribute early might now be a top priority, so I think Harris might be higher on the board now than Diabate. Sidenote: Mwikuta might also be able to play ILB as well as OLB.

Basically Diabate will get the green light. I just get this feeling Thibodeaux stays in the Pac12.

I hoped I was going to wake up to a commitment, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

There have been some interesting CBs placed while I was slumbering though.

Florida picked up 2 CBs for RB Nay'Quan Wright. We can haz Trey Sanders?

Demetric Warren CB'd Andrew Booth to Clemson. I though he was trending to Auburn.

Georgia picked up a half dozen CBs for Baton Rouge Athlete Makiya Tongue. He's about the same size as Nakobe Dean so maybe he gets that spot in their class.

One of the Oregon mods CB'd Jameson Williams to the Ducks. Interdasting.

Wandale Robinson quote:

"I had assumed I was just because of how hard they had been recruiting me, but today when we were all heading to the stadium, everyone was getting on either the bus or golf cart, but then they told me I was riding with Coach Saban, which I was the only recruit riding with him," Robinson said."Just that little thing showed me they really want me."

Robinson is taking an OV to Alabama on September 22nd.

LINK ]Robinson feels like priority on return visit to Alabama (BamaOnLine-VIP)

quote:

Robinson says after this visit Alabama is among his top schools that include Kentucky, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan and Purdue. He officially visited Purdue and Michigan in June. He'll be back at Alabama on Sept. 22 for an official visit. The Cornhuskers will host him on Sept. 1. A decision is expected in late September to early October.

Looks like Bama likes Robinson a lot as a slot WR and he sounds pretty high on Bama now too. But Bama will probably take only one more WR, and Jameson Williams and George Pickens are probably ahead of him on the WR board. I could be wrong, but I doubt Wandale Robinson gets a green light unless Bama feels that landing one of Williams and Pickens has become unlikely.

4* WR Wandale Robinson 5-9.5/179 KY hudl

If by Pac12 you mean USC you could be right, I think it will be a 50/50 toss up between us and the Trojans. I can see him going to USC but outside of that he is coming here or maybe an outside chance of going to FSU. He isn't going to Oregon or Florida. I have said this before but if he is being up front about what he wants to accomplish USC and Alabama are by far his best options. We are at the top of the heap in regards to his football goals. He is interested in entertainment law I believe and LA is definitely at the top of the list as the place to be for that, but our proximity to the entertainment opportunities in Atlanta and Nashville along with having huge alumni bases in those areas make us by far the second best option for that. We would also have the best law school outside of USC of his other options (even though that is graduate school, but going to a school with a strong law program helps for networking purposes). USC is always going to be a fight, but we offer our share of advantages, especially compared to the other 3 options.

It says that is where we are recruiting him in the article linked above.

Bone and I think Hank both said this week Robinson was likely a wr prospect for Bama.
