Here's my take on the whole Tulia thing and I don't have any inside info, just speculating by trying to think of what I would do in the kid's shoes.
Jalen Hurts hasn't gone anywhere and is still the only guy on campus who has started a game at QB. He's 25-2 as a starter and has been a very dynamic player for us. Everybody saw what Tua did in January and everyone assumed he has taken over the job. Only Saban ain't saying that yet. He's playing his cards close to the vest and saying it's an ongoing competition. And Tua's opportunity to make a definitive statement in the spring was cut short, leaving the situation at least uncertain enough for there to be legitimate questions. I think Tua's position still stands that if he ain't starting, he's leaving. The kid's got to be thinking to himself, "what more do you want me to do?" So if that's the case, and little bro sees all that's happening to Tua, and he's already verbally committed to the coach and the school that in the end, might just be stringing big bro along to keep him on campus, wouldn't you keep yourself an out? A fallback? An ace in the hole? So if Tua doesn't start this fall, I fully expect both Tagliovoa QB's to walk out the door for greener pastures. What Tulia is doing, is really smart for himself, he's keeping an option open. And if you were in the kid's shoes, wouldn't you do the same? Who can blame him?

Hank South just said we got a commitment tonight, but it's not in the Class of 2019.
It will be made public tomorrow.

I'd say his post is pretty spot on. Taulia isn't going to shut it down until Tua is the clear starter, because we aren't going to get Taulia if Tua transfers, and Tua is going to transfer if he isn't the clear starter.

An insider said that Christian Harris missed his opportunity to commit. Allegedly committed to Golding, but he wanted to wait to tell Saban. By the time he tried to tell Saban, the board had shifted, according to the insider.

I don't see how anyone thats not, brain dead, could not see Tua is by far the best QB. Hurts can't read defenses and even if he could he can't throw the ball where it should go. Hurts is not 25-2 as a starter. The team is in spite of Hurts.

Lia was at the cookout per John Garcia.

If Harris missed his chance, who took his place?

I don’t know, but I wouldn’t buy a used car from a Ga'Quincy McKinstry though i’d pay good money to attend one of his sermons.

These kids are going to learn.. Saban isn’t playing around anymore. You shop.. we shop.. you can’t decide.. we can move on. This class is filling up fast and it’s players who want to win championships and be at Bama. One of Saban greatest traits as a coach is the ability to adapt. Last year burned him with the kids committed, but taking visits. Then flipping at the end. I don’t see him making that mistake again.
