Guys kids lied to Nick Saban on signing day last year how do you think our insiders are going to be 100% correct?

Anybody thinks Jayson Jones DL from Calera (2020) jumps the gun and commits this weekend? I feel like the atmosphere is going to get to him.

I also for some reason find it funny that there is another Jayson Jones (WR from Fultondale) from Alabama in the same year. Especially since both sets of parents were like I'm going to switch it up and throw this y in his name.

Does the Calera bagman need to make a house visit this afternoon?

With Pickering committing to MSU, I wonder if Byron Young will want to come aboard soon.

One of the more seasoned BOL insiders said yesterday he doesn't envision any MS defensive linemen in our class.

Byron Young is visiting MSU instead of Bama's cookout.

Hank: Christian Harris won't be at the cookout.

Insider-1: Keep an eye on Thibo. 1 more 5* (not on list) is coming to the cookout.

Insider-2: Expect 2 more 5*s at cookout. Board shifted; C. Harris doesn't have green light now.

ETA: Hank lists Sopsher as a maybe for the cookout. Perhaps he's 1 of the 2 5*s insider-2 mentioned. Maybe Trey Sanders, Darnell Wright, Akeem Dent

Kevin Hagan on the Bill King Show Wednesday said there was nothing to worry about with Lia. Having said that, I always get a little nervous when people tell me not to be nervous. Saint - thanks for stepping in with an appropriate GIF.

FWIW, Hagan is extremely plugged in. Especially in the Kentucky to West Virginia region. If he says something on the Bill King show about Darnell Wright (what little he can say on there), take it as the truth.

I’m fairly new to Kevin (past year or so) but really enjoy him on Bill King.

FWIW, Austin Price (Vols recruiting) said Vols were definitely in it for Lia but he could also see him sticking at Bama (depending on how things play out with Tua). Nothing really earthshaking besides that he thinks the Vols have a legit shot.

The first 2018 Alabama football Champions Cookout is bringing a bevy of 5-Star recruits to Tuscaloosa this weekend.

The array of future college football talent attending the Alabama football Champions Cookout is astounding. Players from the 2019, 2020 and 2021 classes will take part in the elite, invitation-only event.

Actual attendees will not be fully known until they arrive, but the list of who is expected to attend is filled with elite players. A couple of top targets may not arrive until Saturday but the weekend list could end up including 10 5-Star recruits. Another 30 or so 4-Star recruits are also expected.

Including the current 2019 and 2020 verbal commits, Alabama football will have close to 80 recruits in Tuscaloosa this weekend. Obviously, the Crimson Tide will not land every top target, either this weekend or later. That is a given for all teams but Nick Saban has another problem. He will not be able to make room for many top players.

There could be as many as ten 4-Star players who are being told they cannot commit at this time. Not all insider information conveys a complete story. We will pass along one current situation where we believe a top 50, 4-Star recruit was told to wait. The waiting carried no guarantee of a future open slot. The player chose to commit elsewhere.

The player’s name is not included because we do not have direct information on the situation. Not taking an anticipated commit is not uncommon for the Crimson Tide and other top teams. It just does not often happen with a Top 50 player.

We believe there is an unprecedented number of top players in the 2019 class who want to join Alabama football.

With close to 80 players visiting this weekend, let’s focus on the 2019 5-Stars and top 4-Stars. and a few 2020 5-Stars.

Probable and possible 5-Star visitors

Not including many current, 2019 verbal commits who will also attend.

2019 Class

Clay Webb
Faatui Tuitele
Kayvon Thibodeaux
Ishmael Sopsher
Trey Sanders
Nakobe Dean (Saturday only)
2020 Class

Savell Smalls
Zachary Evans
Justin Flowe
Arik Gilbert
Probable 4-Star visitors

2019 Class

Noa Pola-Gates
Kalen DeLoach
Devonta Lee
Jeffery Carter
Jalani Williams
Maninoa Tufono
Jaylen McCullough
Rian Davis
Isaiah Hazel
George Pickens
Jaren Handy
Pickens and Handy are Auburn verbal commits, still being actively recruited by the Crimson Tide.

There are at least another dozen, top 2019 prospects, who could not make it to Tuscaloosa this weekend. Guys like Darnell Wright, Daxton Hill, Nick Cross and others will continue to be top prospects.

Noa Pola-Gates is one of the many top recruits that will visit Tuscaloosa for the annual champion’s cookout this weekend.

“I’m so excited to get back there,” Gates said. “My pops is going to be with us this time, so it is a big deal.”

Gates has only visited Alabama once. He hopes to make the most out of this visit and get an in-depth understanding of Alabama football and it’s culture.

“I want to retrace my steps from before, but ask more questions,” Gates added. “I also want to talk with more recruits.”

Alabama’s coaching staff has remained in contact with Gates and ensured him that they want him to be part of this class.

“Our communication is good,” Gates said. “I mostly talk to coach Lupoi and coach Scott. They’re talking commitment of course.”

Is this his official? That's an expensive trip to take multiple times.

Not to mention that if he's on Delta, HNL-ATL and back in coach isn't really a pleasant trip for a big guy.
